This is awesome man, thank you!! My Magnum has been leaking and I thought I was going to lose my mind trying to figure out exactly where from. This video has given me renewed motivation to get back in there and try again lol
You get a like and subscribe because your video was straight forward and logician. You took the time the show the viewer the right angles/views so we could see and you gave the tools sizes to save us time. You showed a before during and after fix view so we can compare what our is doing to yours and how it acts. Great job buddy. Keep up the good work.
I have this same leak on the drivers side of my 300. I used a long pipe cleaner, a straw, and a bottle of water. I cleaned out what i could with the pipe cleaner on my drivers side drain, and then used the straw to blow water down thru it at the pressure I could push it threw with. it took a bit but it seems to be draining pretty good now. Passenger side was draining fine. I could never do what you just did here, GREAT JOB!!
Good tip for fixing the leaks, dang I didn't even realize all of those drain hoses were in the car. I'm happy I got rid of my Scat with the sunroof though. Eventually they all leak. Heck the entire time I had the car I never even used it.
Thank u for the video . today at work i seen water leaking in my sunroof i tho something happened to my sunroof it was leaking from the sides i check after work it was all dry I started to jump to conclusions until i seen your video helped alot thxs man made me feel better lol & oo ya its a 2016 Srt challenger.
Thanks for posting this video. I was thinking about buying a beautiful Scat Pack Challenger but was hesitant due to its sunroof. Now I will definitively not buy it.
Really enjoy your videos. I had the same issue on the drivers side of my 09 Challenger. The kinked hose is really stupid design by Dodge. I just cut the hose and made a 90 connector from a vacuum T and cap. I don't trust the hose to stay unkinked.
How is the car otherwise? . I love there retro look, im 60, but pretty good shape, so wonder is hard to get in and out of , hows it handle, run, fuel ? Just looking get any + or - feed back from this channel owner ,and some of the owners of these cars? Thanks guys, Dale 👍
The car is an easy very comfortable drive even long trips 4+ hours were nice. Gas mileage anywhere from 12-16mpg with the scat pack manual. I was only getting 9-12 mpg on the auto Hellcat.
@@WorkPlayDrive thank you, i may try one for a few years, cool looking cars, I had my hotrods over the years, may try the V6 AWD, with leather, but No Sunroof lol 👍
It looks like that cable/wire is the culprit ? when you put the headliner back up that cable crushes the drain tube ? good luck, great video as always, I'll finish watching I'm sure you'll get it done 👍
The sunroof is one of the main things I dislike about my car. It didn't bother me when I bought it, but shortly afterwards I noticed how it stuck out like a sore thumb on my color car (white). Haven't had any leaking issues with washing but I am able to pick and choose when I drive mine as its just a weekend cruiser and I choose to not drive in the rain. This among other things may be the reason I trade it in...for a Hellcat 😁
I don't particularly care for having a sunroof. I own one because it was on the car that I happened to choose. If there had been a two year lease turn in, with 30,000 miles, full 5 years of warranty and $27,000 less than New... But without the sunroof... I'd have bought it! Nice video! I am scared of what all this Electronic shix is going to do when I get over 50,000 miles... I probably should have bought a motorcycle!!! I do like my Challenger though, just scared of all the electronic crap... Ya'll Take Care, John
this is great info! I used your video to show me how to remove the sun visor and disconnect its cable. do you perhaps know how to disassemble the sun visors? I want to reupholster them in white vinyl. Thanks
Luxe should make a little wee-wee sticker to put where the water drains. :) Like the band-aid stickers. I was aware of the drains. Figured it would be a long time before they would get clogged on their own.
I’m assuming the 300c sun roof is built the same ? Iv spend 5 months trying to figure out why my passenger floor board stay soaked , I thought it was Hester core related but I have no heating issues and I couldn’t really rule that out or rain , it rained a lot in the past 48 hours and I realized my rear passenger floor is about 2 inches of water , I believe it’s all from rain and over flowing to the front , how can i do process of elimination to figure out where it’s leaking exactly ? Any ideas ?
I actually took my head liner all the way down you can see the whole tube in the pillar goes all the way down through the fender as shown in your video. I actually did use 110 psi of air with my compressor with no problems. But guess I got lucky.
i wish i could comment my videos like u do ...but i sound like shit lol....and im so shy to show my face just yet ....i must say ur one of my fav channels i love watching ur videos....keep up the great work man ur awesome ...much respect Sir !!
+FP2000 thanks brother, I used to cringe when I heard myself on video in home movies. from one guy who hates being on camera to another... one day I just sucked it up and started this channel. The positivity from everyone encourages me to be better every day. Go for it you have nothing to loose.
Is water supposed to come through at all. Ive noticed at car washes itll drip but no water ever gets on my headliner. Seal looks good I think but water clearly comes through. Any ideas?
Was it leaking with the sunroof closed? My dodge charger sunroof leaks sometimes. Pretty sure from the rear. Sometimes the roof panel that you can pull closed is wet. I've checked the front for clogs but water flows freely. When you say the re is a drain in the right rear, which side is right lol? Drivers side or passenger? And how do you get at it? Also weed Wacker line works well for unclogging. Had to unclog my previous charger vents before. Great vid btw
Sorry I’m not sure of the routing on the charger I only have the service manual for a challenger. To access the drains for the rear unfortunately you’re going to have to pull down the oh crap handles and take the roof liner out.
@@WorkPlayDrive thanks for the reply. No way do I wanna take the roof liner out lol. Every single time I try fixing ANYTHING on vehicles it turns into an all day think and clips etc never end up going back in properly etc lol. My right arm is paralyzed. I can use the hand but I wouldn't be able to raise my arm to help with the headliner. I could definitely figure out a way to do it myself. I always do but guaranteed I would end up with a sagging headliner or something dumb lol. Could you tell me which side tho the rear drain is on? I know they're different cars but it's probably a similar setup. I've tested and both front drains are fine. I just want to test the back drain to see if water flows from it.
I did some poking around in the Dodge charger forum and it looks like there are two rear drains one on each side. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find where those drains empty out.
@@WorkPlayDrive thanks. It's been raining here the last few days. Not badly but enough that I don't wanna work out in the rain lol. Mine actually doesn't leak too bad. Just occasionally the headliner you can pull to close inside that blocks light from inside in the sunroof gets a bit wet. My driveway is on a slight slope so maybe that's why water travels towards the back end. I've only once had it when water was actually dripping inside the car. I just wanna fix it if possible before it gets bad. I'm thinking tho the back drains probably drain out under the plastics in the fender walls maybe? So if I pull off the rear wheels and take the plastics off the fender walls maybe I'll find the drain hose and can try unclogging from the bottom up using weed eater cord or something. Ty. I appreciate your help
@@WorkPlayDrive nope. I had a look. The two front hoses were good. But when I look ed d at the back there was a peice of plastic loose. You do not see it until u vent and slide thecover forward. Appartently this is a drip tray that travels with the glass . since mine is broke i have to position it right under the gap.
What a coincidence. I came here looking for the drain hole locations. My "leak"was on the passenger side. But once I started checking, it was the driver side that was clogged. Weird that the leak shows on the opposite side. Luckily I was able to clear with compressed air, but I kept the air on lower pressure (40psi)
Maybe, but it may not be enough pressure. Even if you make a tight seal to focus all that pressure. In my case even a compressor didn’t work because my hose was crimped from the factory
Hey Brother, I'm curious to know if you were planning to supercharge your Beast? I am currently researching the best supercharger out there ( looking like a a whipple or Kenne Bell so far ), but find that there is nearly a $0 return on even this type of modification, even though Id be installing myself, the complete kit will run the better part of $7K... So my thoughts are to upgrade to a Hellcat in the next several months. The prices have been falling on these beauts faster than I can say Dodge Demon..... What are your thoughts? Awesome job by the way on the diagnostics and repair of your sunroof! !Boy when it rains it pours!!! :/
STORM392 at this point in time I would install myself. Before I go that route I want to own the car free and clear. Hellcats are awesome but there is some major satisfaction in building my own. I guess if I start getting tired of the work a hellcat would be a nice toy.
Work Play Drive, I am glad I got your opinion! I agree, I have done a lot of very tasteful mods on my vehicle thus far, and honestly I really want to do the install myself as well. Just been researching and seeing a lot of cars like ours that have had this done and now they're loosing their shirts. But I suppose it is all relative in the end. I am a 47 yr old married man with two boys in HS trying to get my last Hoorah before they go into college. Soon I'll be driving an 85 corolla at least till I'm 58 if my numbers are correct....lol. By the way I lived in Maywood ( next to Hackensack ) for 17 years, been here in NC for almost 10 now....;)
can I ask if u ever noticed ur sunroof pop up a little when u shut the doors? mines does just wanted to know if this common or a concern I need to address
Work Play Drive thanks man was figuring as much but seeing how I never had a sunroof before was concerned about it a little....by the way love the balls out I'll do it myself attitude u got going on....makes me do more things on mine when needed....keep up the good work.
I'm still investigating, but with all the prep work and disassembly I've been doing with my wrap a few things have been odd leading me to believe the car had some damage that was fixed at the factory or dealership.
The first few minutes of the video checking and cleaning the drains should be done as part of regular maintenance every 6 months or more if your car lives under a tree. The second part is an extreme case, mine was assembled wrong however I felt it was useful to let everyone see how to access the drainage system to solve their own issues.
If the dealer will warranty it sure, but I've always been cautions about aftermarket sunroofs, leaks and wind noise have always been the biggest complaints. In addition the looks of the big rubber gasket to cover the hole they cut is really not too awesome either. I came across this thread while looking up stuff to fix mine www.srtforums.com/forums/f69/results-aftermarket-sunroof-install-169450/ I
Work Play Drive majority of the ppl on the internet doesnt recommend. But I think its awesome. i mean Im sure u can do preventative maintenence on it just like everything else in life. Its just the unknown that gets me 🤔
if you think about it even the factory installed roof has issues so there is always an unknown even with the safe choices :^) the glass half full view... If a sunroof is going to add a whole lot of awesome to your driving experience, get the best one you can and enjoy it without worry until something actually happens.
the rip apart is an extreme due to the way the car was assembled. Now that I know about it I'll include a blow out whenever I do my oil change and other 6 month maintenance. Hopefully this will be the only time :)
I would never get a sunroof for my challenger...its just me but I think it ruins the look of the car and to be honest a sunroof is kinda useless IMHO. Love your videos btw ;)
Golgo13 if ur not going to go on the track to get crazy times or whatever then a sunroof is useful especially if u live in a state or place that's hot a lot and sunny sunroof can be refreshing
ShotzExpected if you live in a state with lots of sun and open the roof...youll be cooked lol...but I do see how it can work in hot days but still, to me it ruins the look of the car.
For this issue yes it's permanent, but they have been known to clog from time to time especially for people who park under trees and have a lot of debris in the track.
Sure it does, but I've never taken my car to a shop for anything so why start now. This is my outlet I like a good frustrating puzzle, because after all that it was very satisfying to drive in a massive storm today and have no issues.
Work Play Drive good answer. So far, I've done the mods to my car thanks to your videos. I don't have a sun roof though, so this is something I won't have to worry about. The one mod that I went to the shop for was to get my magnaflows installed. I didn't want that one messing up for sure.
Glad I could help in some way :) I'm trying as long as I can to keep this out of a shop. I'm tooling up for some DIY exhaust work in the coming weeks instagram.com/p/BVZtQcTFz9T/ hopefully I can pull this off myself as well.
