To me, she plays the same character over and over and doesn’t have much range. She plays moody, angsty and angry characters because it is easy. She could do more but chooses not to. I 100% think Hollywood will give token awards to someone like her to be like “How can we be racist? We gave a woc like Zendaya Emmys”. She wasn’t expected to win at all in 2020 yet she won an Emmy during the summer of BLM when there was a demand for diversity in all industries. at least in 2022, there was an expectation of her to win. But that wasn’t the case in 2020. So yes it was a token award.
