I car camped in Annan earlier this year. Lovely to see that carpark was that you parked at Glencapel. I think I could do with a return visit and I'll give this a go. :)

Stumbled across your channel by accident, but glad the algorithm sent you my way. I have subscribed and I am looking to watch your other videos. A great, if not frustrating journey, for you. Clearly a steep learning curve. The infrastructure for electric cars is poor. No wonder sales are dropping fast. Looking forward to following your adventures. 😊

I've been watching your videos for the past week then come across this one. I moved to Dumfries and Galloway a few years back and it's a gem of an area. If you ever come this way again, pop into Moffat, lots of charging points until you go back to combustion engines haha. I went to school in Ormskirk and grew up in Skelmersdale. Your accent sounds familiar 😀

@GreenoidAdventure Moffat has great history and is a fantastic stop off for trips to The Borders and The Highlands, but please keep it quiet 🤫 😄 Bonkers that you're from Ormskirk. Small world. I went to Cross Hall High School and I love Ormskirk. Your vlogs are an inspiration. Reminds me of our values growing up. Be adventurous and have fun. My first car camp is in July.

Electric cars are a nightmare. Expensive in Scotland too. Finding a working one is sometimes impossible. Stressful!!!

I would never ever buy an electric car and on top of this pay 79p per kWh to charge it, 3 times more than the electricity coming into my home. Total rip off.

I completely agree - I have this car through a specific scheme in England and it’s on lease for 3 years. When we put in our order for it back in 2021 I loved the idea but the reality certainly doesn’t work out. I won’t be getting another one!

I have an electric car I love it and it works for me but it stressed me out seeing 10% being just 16 miles. Do you not charge on CCS when you are doing longer journeys?

Nice to hear you love yours. I really liked mine when I was just staying at home but since I’ve started doing longer journeys more often it’s just impractical. I do try to use CCS sometimes but can often struggle to find them plus I like to use the cheaper charging options to try to save a little money (although I don’t know how much it realistically saves me 🤷🏼‍♀️)

Have had Citroen eC4 for 18 months, except for the appalling app I absolutely love the car. The charging process however has been a nightmare. Stopped using public charging 6 months ago due to the stress of broken, insufficient, queued and underperforming chargers ruining every road trip. Went out on Sunday for first long drive in 6 months needed charge at first resort, first charger was blocked as festival was on, second broken, third was my first BP, fairly recent installation, but also broken. Several people approached telling me it hadn't worked since they removed the massive diesel generator as there's not enough power available. Next one, pair of them no power. Finally after going to last one in area I got a charge. By this stage we had enough, cut short the day out and headed home. Borrowing a petrol car I been offered for a holiday road trip in few weeks that I was going to cancel. 🙁

Thanks for sharing your experience🙁 The main issue is public charging. It’s so stressful going any sort of distance as (as you rightly said) you never know if the charging point you go to will work or you can access it. I don’t blame you for taking the petrol car for the road trip - EVs just can’t do that kind of thing. Enjoy your trip in your petrol car 🚙😄

Why would you expect to get power free in Scotland when you have to pay everywhere else?

It used to be a thing that ChargePlace Scotland offered free charging. If you google it that’s the information I found that they still did it but apparently they stopped offering it for free a few years ago

No not practical at all, as I’m discovering! 😭 hopefully van will be fixed pretty soon but I’ve no actual date as yet

😂 I did think of you and was gonna text but I wanted to wake up by the water and I was pissed off with the whole charging thing. If I’d have known u had an external socket thou that might have been a different story! 😂 I’ll pop in next time - promise 😊

See Redcote Leisure Ltd on Dragons Den. Happy Days in You Tube just sold their motor home for camper van .Their were offere three choices of conversions with different configurations for 1.200.You can either buy your own van or choose one of their vehicles in excellent condition and very low mileage. Cheapest have seen.Beautiful vans. Also see Roaming Radfords brand new motor home hire 19.00 per day really cheap .You could do 2 weeks with Steven in comfort without him feeling squashed or share costs with friends or family. Maybe find a hybrid .Bit of both.Prefer Hybrid or Petrol.LOW Mileage ! Love S x

Those Happy Days have got the same van as us! Even the same colour! You can get set up far cheaper than their set up. Our boot jump cost less than £900 2 years ago. We are ‘just for the weekend van life’.
