It is a story of three brothers. Brijmohan Sharma, with his two brothers Manmohan and Jagmohan runs a garage. The eldest brother Brijmohan hates women and doesn't allow any women or pictures of them in his garage. One day, while Manmohan is on the night shift, Renu comes to the garage seeking help as her car breaks down. He helps her. Both start meeting each other often and fall in love. Jagmohan meets Sheela, Renu's sister and likes her. Will these pairs be able to marry? What is the reason for Brijmohan's hatred for women? Watch the movie.

Despite being 1958 film it showed women in much better ways than the later films did. Renu and Sheela driving alone, women open the bonnet and have understanding of mechanics, women fighting with men, standing up for their rights, and the end scene scene where girls are driving and the boys are on the back seat. It's truly amazing.

I think it’s a cult classic because of the people in it. The genius Kishore Kumar, very funny Anoop Kumar, the legend dada moni and strikingly beautiful Madhubala. Of course music, script all put together. Not a shade of vulgarity but worth multiple times watch.

Kishore kumar gave many blockbuster movies during 1956 to 1959 and on the set of chalti m gadi they fall in love.both were in peak of their career.in 1960 they got married n in 1961 jhumroo became hit n half ticket in 1962.kishore da took madhubala ji to London for treatment but she had life ending problem. She became ill n Kishore da's movies also one by one flopped, he was broken inside though he never showed to anyone. They really look great together. Kishore kumar is really fighter love his personality

It was really a very great and nice movie ❤❤ Kishore Kumar is so versatile, he can do anything, ie singer, actor, director, producer... He was just awesome.. I just love kishore jee.. And madhubala is also very beautiful, she was the real dream girl of the Hindi film industry... The entire movie was awesome... Watching it in lockdown with my grandfather was a blessing for me... Lots of love to you all from me and my grandfather ❤❤

Magicg of Chalti ka Naam Gadi can never be created again.......all three Kumar brothers anoop,kishor and ashok along with madhubala and Mohan choti are fabulous actors, great direction by satyen and fantastic music by burman.. lovely lyrics, singing and cinematography too. Great team work. All in all a greatEST musical comedy Hindi films has produced. Also lovely to see Bombay of the sixties.

Doctor ne dono ko Salah Di thi.. Sexual relation na rakhne ke liye.. Kyun ki doctor ne kaha tha madhubala 1/2 saal zinda rahegi.. Madhubala bahut bimar thi.. Fir bhi kishore da unsab ke babajood bhi apnaye.. 9 saal tak ilaaz karwaye.. So sad madhubala g bachi nahi 😢😢
