Wow i never realised how different she sounds in both of these. I listen to both of these songs all the time but now that I listened to them at the same time it sounds like two siblings singing. Its very similar but so different at the same time. Also i can't wait for her to drop the re-recorded versions of all her songs. Just imagine how amazing and mature its going to sound

okay so hear me out- this is the inner conversation of someone leaving a toxic relationship. champagne problems is her recounting her leaving the relationship, her thoughts as she’s doing so, and dealing with everyone’s disappointment in her for leaving cause they seemed so well together. All Too Well is a mix between her past voice during the relationship, remembering the good parts of the relationship and wondering if she did the right thing, and her inner dialogue between of the relationship is good or bad. Together they also discuss the events following the relationship. He moves on and gets a new girlfriend, but keeps his scarf because he still loves her, even though he was toxic. The overall story of the breakup is in this college relationship, the guys is in love with this girl, although the relationship is toxic (yet he doesn’t recognize that), and proposes. For a long time, this girl has known and been thinking about the toxic nature of the relationship (explored in All Too Well) and been contemplating if she should end it. He proposes, she breaks up with him as she decided that it was toxic, everyone is shocked, and blames the breakup and every issue in the relationship on her own “fucked [up] head.”

I haven’t even listened to it fully but I already know I’m going to cry All Too Well reminds me of me and my ex best friend, who I never talk to anymore. It fits too well and it hurts almost too much. Champaign Problems felt like a more adult version of it as she and I move on to college.
Just because I don't have depression and don't cry regularly and try my very very very very very best to hold my tears while listening to these songs separately doesn't mean you'll have to make this mashup so that I can cry my whole heart out
