Champion 2000 Watt Generator 3 Year Review (But will it run a space heater?)

So it has been 3 years since I moved off grid. Ever since that first day, I've had this little Champion 2000 watt inverter generator! So I thought I would do a 3 year review on it for those of you who are looking for an economical generator for your off grid cabin. The Champion 2000 watt generator still starts on the first pull nearly every time. It will still run 10 to 12 hours on a gallon of gas in economy mode at low idle. When running my window AC, it will run it for about 10 hours on a tank of gas! It will even handle a 1500 watt space heater! It's a great generator for the price, and it is quiet!

Nice! I'm going off grid this summer (starting off in an RV) and went a little bigger. Got the 4650 Champion w/remote start. Hope it last me as long as yours has.

My champion generator is now over 4 years old. Probably over 10,000 hours and runs about 16 hours a day during the Summer running my A/C. Still starts on the first pull! I think you'll like yours!

I got a Harbor Freight Predator 2000 and it’s been excellent.

They're good generators, but the 90 day warranty is a deal breaker for me. 3 years on the Champion. The predators are also a lot more expensive.

I nearly bought one of those. But for the reasons J Shepard mentioned, I went with the Champion generator.

Longevity is why I got a Champion generator! Run time on propane is so much better but it costs about the same in price. I also have solar generators to use when I don't need my A C. I will be using my generator to charge my solar when the sun doesent come out.

That's my plan exactly! I have most all the solar components, I just need to get around and hook everything up! Stuff just keeps popping up to do and now fall hunting and fishing is just around the corner. Hope I can get done before then or it'll have to wait until Spring...lol

Get you a solar generator brother that gas toting is going to get old after a while cutting into your pockets go any battery solar generator but I understand if you don't have good skies for solar you have to go in a generator preferably a dual fuel propane will last you longer and less aggravation 🌄😉

Every year I think "Maybe next year I'll get a solar system large enough to run my AC" Yeah, toting gas, water and ice gets old! I'm working on the ice and water thing this year, maybe next year I'll have a system large enough for the AC!

$363 on Amazon right now. I bought mine a couple weeks ago for $346. They have been as much as $450 recently, and are over $500 at most stores.

Thanks for the heads up. Sometimes I think about buying another one and joining the two generators.
