Ty for playing! Maybe you’ll try the other two and maybe even a cool horse racing game called Longshot the Dice game! It is another exhilarating game for 1-6 players.
Here’s what happened. When HEAT first came out, some of you might remember it was totally sold out. In my searching around I came across this game via an obscure comment by someone (hello whoever you are!!). I found that nobody even much knew about this game or wanted it, and managed to find it on eBay and bought it for $25 including shipping. I have since been trying to figure out how to play it because who the heck wants to read a rulebook right? 😂 Lo and behold today I see this Paul video pop up! So amazing!!! And the price of this game has at least doubled now in the interim on Amazon and eBay. The moral of this story? Buy your obscure boardgames when you can 😂😂😂
Ha, I've been wanting to play CFR for a while now but didn't know it is a redone version of the original AH Speed Circuit. I've got Speed Circuit sitting on the shelf in my game closet! Played it decades ago. The CFR version certainly looks prettier than I remember SC looking.
Formula D is definitely an easier game to play. You do need the rule book, from time to time, when there are major cock ups, but generally it moves pretty smoothly! This board is not highly detailed like Formula D boards. There are many courses to choose from. Some have special difficulty challenges to overcome and Formula D does also have a weather challenge, that you can throw in with any course. Now, there is a recent remake of a game named, “Daytona 500”. It is now called, “Down Force”. Unlike the other two games, it is a betting game. It is also a lighter game than the other two. Like Heat, it only uses cards for movement and an occasional die roll. The other difference is the winner is determined by the winning car, but the player who won the most money!
25:24 Initial impression: With all the cards and tokens, this game looks so fiddly, compared to Formula D. There you just have a variety of movement dice and your gear shifting box with damage pegs.
