It was Louis XIV, "the Sun King", who ordered the beggining of creation of this large avenue in the middle of swamps in his time. Yes, Louis XIV did not only build the Chateau de Versailles. ^^

Put Champs-Élysées in any city on earth and they become the most famous and Grand avenue in town. Still, it is not the prettiest in Paris.

Humanity is not that interesting, after all. I prefer nature. A great mountain view. Maybe a bear attack. But people populating a city street? No thank you. Glad I could save the jet fare and hotel costs. Same goes for Venice. Looks worn down and used. But thanks for the videos. Even Rome's coliseum seemed lessened with intimacy possible via RU-vid. The world is rather common, sadly.
