Im having a very hard time with this software, im trying to add only 2 moving heads and control them, i didnt find any tutorial to do this simple thing, all tutorials start from an advanced position, please make a tutorial to start from scratch
Hi Mike, The next tutorials in this playlist go through how to patch fixtures and control them. If you are getting stuck at a particular point you can book a 20 min crash course with one of our trainers here: go.oncehub.com/Chamsysusaofficehours&thm=blue&bt=1
I want to dump my dmx controllers and switch to software. I downloaded the magicq demo software but it's WAAAY to complicated to understand for a beginner - way too many buttons/functions etc etc. I was thinking of buying the magicq magic dmx full dongle to get an idea of how things work and see if I will be able to understand how this software works. if all goes well and I feel comfortable with it I will buy a wing or desk. Can you tell me what the main differences between magicq and quickq are? Is quickq far easier to understand/use? If yes, can I use the dongle with the quickq software instead? But, should I even go down that path if there will be many things I can't do with quickq? (What are they?) I only use Mac, but will prob not going to be using it for the lightshow as I'll be DJing with it. I really hate Windows so would like to avoid that, so if I buy a PC laptop just for the lightshow, are there any min specs that are needed? Or better yet, can I buy a relatively cheap tablet (not an iPad) instead of a laptop for it and that way I'll get multitouch options and touch sliders? Any min specs for that? Can record my lightshow on my Mac at home, and when I'm done, just "transfer" the lighshow (and all the saved/patched fixtures) via a usb stick onto my PC laptop or tablet, and just play from there directly (as if I was still on my Mac)?
Thanks for your message. QuickQ is much simpler software aimed more toward non full time lighting operators. When compared to MagicQ, QuickQ does not support Pixel Mapping, Indiviudal Element selection (for example of LED battens) and is much simpler to program. The QuickQ Designer software (Windows or Mac) does not support any DMX output or Dongles, it is an offline tool only. Do feel free to give our Customer support team in the ChamSys office a call, they'd be more than happy to chat this through in further detail.
@@ChamSysLtd Ok so it sound like QuickQ is the software for me as it's simpler. But you say that I can't buy your MagicQ dongle and use QuickQ instead. Not good. So th only way to use QuickQ is by buying one of your really expensive (for my budget) consoles. Right? And the most economical way for me to program and control my lights is by using your dongle, but to do this I'll have to use the more complicated MagicQ software. Right? Thanks in advance for these clarifications - for anything else I will contact your support! Thanks again!
@@nounix That is correct the QuickQ software on PC does not output DMX, it does have a visualiser for offline programming though. Correct most economical way to have a DMX output is with MagicQ and a MagicDMX.
On the MagicQ Magic (Not basic) dongle, is there any Limitations besides it saying Demo Mode? Can you save shows normally and is there no time Limit as in Basic?
There is no limitation in the output time, though being in demo mode restricts a few features for example: Chapter 3.7 here lists what these are: secure.chamsys.co.uk/help/documentation/magicq/pc.html
Absolutely - on the console connect USB Drive, under Setup > View Settings, press 'backup to USB' to store the show file on your USB drive. Then connect the USB drive to your PC. Run MagicQ PC, under the top left 'file' menu, select 'open show folder' and copy the show file from your USB to this folder. You can then use 'load show' in the setup window to load your show file.
Hello. How can I record layout on some key on MQ500M console? I know It can be assigned under exec buttons, but can I record layout under F1, F2, F3 buttons?
en español no todos sabemos ingles pero si todos estamos interesados deberian de ser mas flexibles en esa parte muchos queremos aprender pero no todos se nos da otros idiomas
This is beginning from way too advanced of a position. I’ve owned other lights for 15 years and used DMX but this is a whole extra level, and doesn’t really give a good starting reference
If I purchase a 6 universe console from chamsys can I output all 6 universe's out of ArtNet/Scacn and opt to not use the standard DMX outputs from the back?
