Our society is on a dangerous sliding slope from immorality to amorality. I suspect the pressure cooker-like population stress may have amongst others something to do with it. On a second thought in Japan with more or less the same population density, the crime figures are one of the lowest among developed countries.
I am a nonpracticing cultural Hindu and quite curious and appreciative of its philosophy art music culture sculpture temple architecture and literature such as Ramayana and Mahabharata. But the flip side of it, I loath it's caste system. It is the curse of Hinduism. A religion that robs the dignity of a human being and that too by an accident of birth cannot be the object of much veneration. But that is all at the level of practice . That is why I cringe and eschew all rituals and practices of this otherwise fundamentally great concept of a religion.

কিসের সভ্যতা ? আপনি যে সভ্যতার কথা বলছেন সেটা কোথ থেকে এসেছে ? পশ্চিম থেকে ? কে তৈরি করেছে সভ্যতা ? পশ্চিমারা ? আপনার সভ্যতার মাপকাঠি কিসের ভিত্তিতে তৈরি করেছেন ? আপনার মুখে পেশাব করা হলে বা আপনার মেয়েকে ধর্ষণ করা হলে তখন দেখা যাবে আপনি সভ্যতার কথা বলেন কিনা ? ধন্যবাদ | Please don’t take it personally.
