My God, there can not be another Madhuri Dixit or even anyone close to her. her minute expressions, every gesture, every grace, her damn good delightful dance. I don't think anyone can come close to her.
That's why, there was a reason she was called 'female Amitabh Bachchan'; not to compare her with a male star; but to show her standing. She is up there, above ratings, success & failure a mega-mega star.
I know it is bittersweet. But it's the truth. I am quoting Mahesh Bhatt (Aalia's father) who once said 'Madhuri is an Indian Beauty, an Indian mystique with an extraordinary depth. She had the depth that the filmmakers could not explore, they were limited she was not, she was inexhaustible'. And I completely agree with him. I love your other reaction videos too. But when your Madhuri reactions are the BEST. It's like you understand her nuances so well while watching the song. Please Please Please keep continuing to reacting MD numbers I so love to see you enjoy and appreciate them :)
Yesss. Nowadays, there are actresses who can give different expression but they're not expression queens- there's a difference. I wonder if people don't do it because they think its old-fashioned and cheesy or because they can't do it.
+jimmycroni nope they only wish to be as spontaneous as sridevi and madhuri. ...another reason of why there is no more madhuri is due to the nepotism that plagued bollywood since year 2000. ..talentless star kids been forced on audiences....hence no more genuine talent from outside like madhuri sridevi srk juhi chawla etc can be seen anymore.
+jimmycroni Madhuri is a kathak dancer and kathak is a classical indian dance where the kathak dancers use to narrate the whole stories thru their dance n facial expressions..it cud be any story..like a folklore or a mythological story..thats why Madhuri being a kathak dancer is able to give such cute expressions..becos thats what kathak is about..narration of entire story thru dance n expression
the beauty about Indian dances n culture is its variety..when u move from one state to another from language food n attire to songs dance n rituals everything changes n that is what adds varieties to the overall indian culture which u will find nowhere in the world n this is what makes india a unique country..
@@jimmycroni if u want to see real dance, do watch and review songs of Sridevi hamra saajan sang tha waada, Mera kaha manoge from gurudev, main Teri dushman (best ever snake dance), aaj Radha ko shyam yad aa Gaya, dushman Dil ka Jo he mere, tum Jo parda rakhoge (unrivalled and unique comedy mujra) n mere hathon me nau nau chudiyan hain. M not suggesting Madhuri's songs bcoz u HV done most of them.
Madhuri is just OUTSTANDING in this very ICONIC song of the century. No other actressess today can do this -- this is true. We need a truly trained kathak or classical dancer in the industry.
5:27 - 5:36.. in these 10 seconds i think madhuri has given 10 to 15 different expressions.... Nobody can copy her...if anyone tries to than they will look vulgar or cheap or complete idiot
wow...if u feel so nostalgic and so love the expressions of madhuri.....how should we feel abt it because we all 90s kids grew up watching her in India..and there is no one like her
If you just look at the lyrics alone, they come off a little rapey, but if you look at them in context...the fact that it's a celebration and her coy expressions, you realize that it's about seduction...about a young girl who is--very willing--seduced by her boyfriend. But "good girls" aren't supposed to put out, so she puts up a token protest...hence, there was a "theft". But yes, Madhuri is awesome. One of the best (if not THE best) actresses/dancers ever. She's been my favorite actress ever since I saw her for the first time in Tezab.
The mark of a great dancer is how effortlessly they can do the moves. Also, maintaining a smile though the whole routine which many people forget, and lastly, you need to understand the culture a little bit, otherwise you will just be guessing. Madhuri the real Queen of dance. If you asked her to "twerk", she will just quit because she values her principles and cannot be bought. If you want Dixit's skills, you have to pay now.... She's an absolute legend, stop trying to low-ball her and just pay her what she is worth. Also, once you pay then she will give you 10000% and more. People call each other "kings" and "queens", just to make themselves feel better. Why not actually become a King or Queen? Why are black people acting like they were the only enslaved people in the world? Also, when tf will you people move on and stop asking for shortcuts?
There is equal parts playfulness and creepiness when it comes to the lyrics. There are two ways this song can be interpreted - first being that she is secretly attracted to the boy who is trying to sleep with her in the chickpea field and is being coy. The second interpretation, which I lean more towards, is that the song is meant to sound creepy, given the presence of ShahRukh Khan, who plays Madhuri's possessive evil admirer. In my mind, this song is an innocent summary of what plays out in the movie. He isolates her from the people she loves, leaves her in a position where she has no support, abuses his power over her to the point where she has to pretend to love him (before she finally kills him). The movie is pretty disturbing and I think the song is meant to be foreshadowing for events that will occur later on in the movie.
Jimmycroni!! At the end of Anjaam song last add song wearing blue jeans with black cap was Pooja Bhatt sister of Alia Bhatt both daughters of Mahesh Bhatt and that.. Amen
Wow how strange that the highest viewed videos of yours from the last 2 weeks is old songs of Madhuri and SRK it restores my faith in humanity lol that people still appreciate real talent compared to tiger shroff, Kareena et. all 0 entertainment song,
Awesome reaction. Love your channel and love for Bollywood Please react to barson ke baad from the same film (Anjaam). It is done in one take! No cuts. Madhuri is truly the queen
LMAO the lyrics are about the 18 year old girl losing her virginity in a, erm, a chickpea field. XD All the 'theft' and references are just that. :p The entire time she's going all 'i was an innocent girl, hidin my face in my dupaata, (AND THEN i got laid--- ) there was a theft in the field i was passing through, my skirt got messed up, the flowers in my hair broke, he held my wrist and my bangles broke' etc etc lol. if you just read the lyrics by themselves, it comes off a little problematic, but clearly the vibe is all about how the girl is into the guy too, but is merely making a token protest and tryna keep up her proper girl image when the guy is tryna persuade her to sleep with him lol. that line of 'kya kya hua mere saath re' just kills me coz she basically goes to her hubby and says 'god, the things that happened to me', all kinda like how a proper girl is supposed to *say*, except her smirky expressions show that she enjoyed it a lot alskjf SHE'S SO GREAT I LOVE HER kudos to saroj khan, the choreographer, too! :D mads and her are the best team
Thank you for your commentary. I enjoyed reading it.I thought it was about sex but why are we so casually dancing to and singing about this at a party? This song was popular and people of different ages dance to this. I love this song but I was quite surprised when I read the translation. Saroj Khan- awesome choreographer.
See, it doesn't sound vulgar at all language wise. Like I said earlier it gives a subtle hint; like a tease,1% glimpse, trailer of actual thing. But people get actual meaning without getting offended or feeling odd
jimmycroni Actually the "theft in the chickpea field" is a phrase with two (related) meanings. The innocent meaning is that I (literally) met my beloved in the fields (which is the ONE private space rural youth may find, unseen by the watchful eyes of their families), and that this meeting lead to the theft of my heart in the field. The fact that it was a chickpea field is of no consequence, it's just a small detail to add imagery to the lyrics. And the second, implied meaning (which only the adult listeners of the song would understand) is that the protagonist had sex in the fields, that it was the theft of my innocence/virginity/my first time (consensual btw!). But the first meaning is what carries the rest of the song and story, ie that my life changed after I 'met' my beloved in the fields.
You know it’s describing RAPE in details, right? That’s why my xhusband didn’t want our daughter dancing to this song and they don’t do it in dance school. (Still love the beat and music.)
thr lyrics are playful. issue with translation is that it is as it is worth by word while the song uses these lyrics as metaphor. ..like here the theft means the theft of heart. ...and that chickpea field is just a naughty reference of some teasing playful naughty thoughts. ... so without these real hidden meanings and references the lyrics seems weird just as it is.
She's an awesome dancer and very versatile with a a fabulous face/ body and beautiful smile... but she's no expression queen and not as cute in the cutesy stuff. She's fantastic in her own right but she's no Madhuri.
