@@Israproil …..She was not creating the most exciting designs, but classic, based on centuries old art. She QUIT (walked out) after the Indian woman ceo put pressure on her to create more shows, night shifts for the atelier, and pink slips for the 60-70 year old women in the haute couture dept.

This comment shows your lack of knowledge regarding Chanel. Karl Lagerfeld was all bout showing off his ego, he even said Gabrielle Chanel wouldn't like his collections. Virginie Viard was the one who kept Gabrielle's legacy alive.

Under the direction of Virginie Viard, the House began to lose its grandeur which of course was reflected in overall sales. She has now left, and rightly so. I'm looking forward to the next 'Karl Lagerfeld' to bring Chanel back to its glorious heights once again. Virginie was not that person, and could never hope to be.

@@zeitgeist7788 Virginie Viard was a keeper, but her spectrum of design is not full enough for Karl's legacy watching her collections make people missed Karl more. Of course some of the outfits and the choice of fabric was genius, but the design, it lacks some sense of form that blows the mind of the Chanel fan away
