I've sniffed all of these in Saks. The only one I've sampled extensively is Coromandel. Love that fragrance. It just feels VERY formal. Something I'd only get to wear maybe 1 or 2 times a year.
Best to just let the EDT memories fade as they are now ‘unobtanium’ - that is insanely over-priced on the secondary market. I have sampled the edt & edp versions of the entire line. I now own various full edp bottles and BdL parfum. The switch over, in my humble opinion, has been mostly successful. Great review. Parfums are the best.
Apparently we are to get our very first male Les Exclusive this year called Leo. Also, after ten years we are to get a brand new male main stream signature fragrance...no name. September.
I’ve used to own Coromandel and Bois des Iles EDT. I prefer Coromandel EDP because the EDT was insanely sweet. But the EDP seems to feel flatter, like the bottom has been filled with some ‘Chanel’ filler amber accord. I know some basenoters have expressed the same feelings too...like a cheapening of the base range. The extraits for both Coromandel , Bois des Iles and Cuir de Russie are superior in tone (IMO), more depth, notes quality is better, better base. But the price per ml is insane. I wouldn’t spend that type of money unless I had a very small collection. Also my last Bois des Iles extrait seems to smells more floral then sandalwoody. I guess it may have ‘changed’ and not too my liking. The Coromandel extrait has very poor performance although it’s resin heavy balance is to my liking.
Very eloquently describe all of them in very short video. I really like your way of explanation, Bois de isle for me an instant love the first time I sniffed. Debenhams and John Lewis sometimes have 15% off in these. Thanks 😊 Raj for all of the these reviews keep them coming eagerly waiting for Derby review
Stellar video mate, I’ve had bottles of coromandel and bois des illes for a few years now and really enjoy them both, i had the edt of coromandel but finished the 200ml bottle, i then got the edp version which is still good but maybe not quite as strong. I think sycomore is ok but wouldn’t purchase it, i don’t like cuir de russie personally.
I have the old EDT of all of these....the newly reformulated EDPs are pale in comparison (aren't as rich and deep and don't perform nearly as well) to these gems. I don't wear Coromandel often because it smells SOOO much better on the ladies. Sycomore is a classic and, IMO, better suited for the gents. Cuir de Russie also isn't worn much because I have others in this genre that I love more and are a bit more masculine. I loved Bois des Iles, but it too doesn't get worn often these days simply because I prefer wearing it's more masculine men's counterpart, Egoiste. Cheers.
Lots of different places. eBay, sometimes I get them for free with orders or from SAs even when I don’t make a purchase. Fragrance specific websites like Jovoy, Les Senteurs, first in fragrance, Essenza nobile, Nose.fr, fragrance samples U.K. or directly from the brand’s website. It might be worth me doing a video on this.
