Chanel No.22 EDP vs EDT with Experiencing Fragrances with Amina 

Yes, it’s true. In 2010, a 6.8oz bottle of an Exclusifs was $250, then it went up to $350 several years ago. Now they’re $450 and the EDP reformulations are just not the same as the EDT. Coromandel EDT was my favourite, but with the EDP it became very vanillic and they replaced the patchouli with sandalwood, and there is less white chocolate and some other stuff. Also, I loved Gardénia EDT, and from what I have experienced with the EDP, it’s not long-lasting.

Hi Ladies just found your video today and trust me 22 was much stronger in the 70/80’s when my mom use to choke me out spraying it and it was a EDT. I believe they changed formula due to FDA guidelines and had to stop using certain notes due to allergies etc. I had the EDT 2012 but used it all up as expected. Now I have the EDP and I do not see much of a difference. Of course EDT is cheaper than EDP now fast forward, I just purchased a new 200ml for $500 in 2024. BUTTT the prices are high for all NIche and although they don’t like to call the private lines Niche bcz they’re not singly a perfume house. Chanel has paved the way for many so not sure why people only complain when they raise their prices and PDM, DIOR etc prices are equally as high for less juice…. Having gone through this with most of the line - comparing edt vs edp (and some extrait), I have to say that testing with your own skin chemistry is vital. The extrait versions really were something special but if the budget is limited (Chanel budget...really!), the relatively easily purchased edp versions are truly wonderful. Most of the edt versions are now basically “unicorns” that are rather difficult to acquire. I love the No.22 edp - even over the edt. Thanks for the review.

Oh yeah. N 22 let’s go. Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers in you’re life lady’s. Great video. Only experience I have with edt vs edp was sycomore, and I found the edt a lot more diffusive. Towards the dry down they become a lot more similar. All in all I found the edp to be richer.

really love this video! i am a recent convert to No.22. one of my dealers popped a vintage EdT in with one of my purchases, and i really fell for it. i was surprised by how incense-y i found it. i have a couple bottles of the les exclusif EdT too. i'm definitely going to try the current EdP formulation now. i think there are a lot of scarcity narratives in the perfume community used to justify adding extra zeros on to the starting bid price on ebay.

Super Dacob, i believe, said that Chanel discontinued Chanel 22 edt to keep pace with louis vuitton and their fragrances/prices. so therefore warranting the discontinuing of edt and providing the edp/eau de parfum at a jacked up price. oy. i really loved my edt 22 chanel from the 90s. i wish i'd have had a crystal ball and stocked up or just scarcely used my edt bc now i can't get it unless i want to pay an exorbitant price by private sellers. i have the worst sniffer and i remember the scent projected so nicely and i could smell it on me for hours and hours and hours, mind you an edt not edp and it was 100.00 something i believe. now i'm saving up for the edp largest i can get at 400.00 for 200 ml i believe. i can't wait. i figure if i'm going to get it might as well get the largest and best cost benefit to me. i'll use it up like all get out. lol. and have one for back up. lol.
