Change 2012 VW Passat rear turn signal bulb 

Thanks a ton! This saved me some money. FYI for anyone reading: this is valid for 2015 VW Passat as well.

Just did this for the rear LEFT turn signal bulb of my 2012 VW Passat 3.6 SEL. Just a heads up to anyone doing the same: the felt panel is much larger/more obvious, but workable space to access the first clip and plastic screw of the bulb housing is much smaller; would recommend having a flashlight handy too. SUPER HELPFUL video overall. Thank you!! This took less than 10 minutes for a complete novice. Also, it's recommended that you don't touch these types of bulbs with exposed skin (the oils of your fingertips can cause the bulb to get "cloudy" and can also reduce the lifespan of the bulb). A thin latex/plastic glove would be helpful, but I just used a folder up paper towel :)

This video just saved me $90 dealership was asking to replace the bulb. Watched this video for 10 minutes, drove to the store and spend another 10 minutes to put everything back together. Cost of pair of bulbs at the local auto-part store was $8. My 2015 model was slightly different but once I got an idea it was easy to figure out. Thanks!

Thank you! I just changed mine today. P.S. you can unscrew the lamp fixture, white knob, before unhooking the electrical, black and red connector. This made it easier to access and release the connector.

Thanks brother, your video was very helpful and saved a lot of time for me 2012 vw passat tdi bulb 7506 Sylvania this can also be done by pulling the wire plug and clip after you unscrew the lens not much room but it can be done so nothing falls down the trunk. Nice job!!!

Thanks needed to change mine again on my '12 SEL Premium. Wow you have a lot of miles on your 2012 SEL. I only have 53k ;) btw tip : use GLOVES when installing the new bulb(s) so that your finger oils don't get on it and cause the bulb to burn out too fast. Also if you change one you must change BOTH otherwise the older one remaining will quickly burn out within a week or so as the voltage will be different between the old and new bulbs.

Thank you so much, this kind of thing is definitely not worth bringing it somewhere $$. That little red safety clip was WAY too hard to manipulate with my fingers, so I used a very small thin flat head screwdriver to yank it up. Now to see if I can fix my side view mirror...

One tip: use painters tape ( or a buddy) to hold the light housing in place while you work the other side. You don't want to drop that as its very expensive to replace the housing.
