Adding shims to the primary spring on my 97 yamaha vmax 500. This puts more preload on the spring, increasing engagement rpm. Clutch shims. These are .060, the ones that I saw were .072. Whatever... send it! www.hauckpower...
The thing is you're also going to change your shifting RPM throughout your acceleration range if you are Drag Racing for instance you will lose your flat shift curve
torquing is important,70 psi at first then back off and retorque to 48psi approx, makes a difference where the primary sheave engages the belt. Thanks for posting.
Dude, I shredded a belt getting stuck in heavy wet snow. Yamanha Triple 7. But now my sleds clutch doesn't engage until 5k RPM. I'm new to sledding & learning a lot. Previous belt engaged around 4k. I think I might need a new spring or rebuild primary. Thanks for the vid tho, certainly helpful.
