Neci Johnson - while the scripture does tell us to praise Him in the dance, and worship Him in the beauty of holiness, not everyone does either. Did you notice that there were some who did absolutely nothing but sit there? Lets not play with it, not everyone is saved, and not everyone praises or worships. However, to your point, the dance only lasted about 10 minutes (13:10 - 23:30), but the worship lasted the rest of the clip about 30+ minutes! You are correct about being so quick to jump, I can't disagree. I am a P&W leader myself. Many times worship leaders places a lot of emphasis on the praise/dancing, but in this case both the praise leader and the PASTOR stayed in the worship, because in all God was moving. One thing (praise) lead into the other (worship). The musician didn't "have" to pump them, he took them there - and some went!

Neci and Mr Grace, the history of Praise & Worship in the African American church has been hidden for many years. I'm turning 60 this year and have been a Gospel musician and preacher for more than 45 of those years. I came up in the church where Chrystal was born and studied under many great musicians in the KCMO area and across this nation. I have seen the transition from testimonial songs to praise and worship. I embrace it and share this in brief. I know Worship and I appreciate Praise but 40 years ago Baptist Church didn't worship or praise in church like they do today; and without understanding the PTSS (Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome) that African Americans suffered in the formation of America from Slavery to "Post Slavery" (which was announced prematurely) dancing in (sanctified) churches was an emotional outlet for the pain and grief we lived under for more than four centuries. To break forth in a dance was a sign of freedom. Praise leads to Worship. Before the Holiness church musicians crossed over to more Traditional churches due to economic issues, there was an absence of Pentecost in those churches. The movement of the Spirit was not there. Just watch some of the recent movies about the "old" days when Africans were treated worse than animals, women and men raped at a whim and no reciprocity or justice. Times have changed but Dr. Joy DeGruy makes a point about the lack of treatment that has been ignored for generations and the effects and affects that have infected us even today. In reference to our modern day worship experience we in Western cultures take a lot of things for granted, namely our part in the scheme of European Supremacy which pushes us to find freedom in our religious outlets. For those who claim this is a white man's worship, watch "Birth of A Nation" the story of Rev. Nate Turner a revolutionist who learned that freedom costs, watch the whole thing and watch closely how we who do not understand life turn against each other out of ignorance. It's a movie but it shows and illustrates several messages and issues that still prevail today. Finally, worship comes as an understanding of what has been already done and we encourage all to enjoy it but until you can praise Him for what you expect how can you appreciate Him for what you expect to receive. Let's be cautious of calling people to worship before they understand the reason for their praise and that is that they have been changed, by the blood of Jesus Christ. Alleluia You Are Holy.

I'm sorry I wasn't trying to offend. I didn't say she wasn't called or even anointed. Although some can mistake the anointing for gift. I was simply stating I remember Crystal Rucker time pass. She didn't adorn herself the way she is today. These gospel artists pile this make up all on their faces. Along with the fake eye lashes, and they have gotten away from the standard of holiness. Yes holiness is a lifestyle. I believe that as a child of God we dont just put on any and everything the world have to offer us. We dont do any and everything just because this world system accepts it and says its ok. There will always be a difference. The bible also tells us we know the tree by the fruit it bears. But when you say these things in love and truth, people have something agaInst you or want to say you are judging.. I do believe when the Lord calls us out, He will also sanctifiy us. Meaning to set us apart from the world. People will simply miss the Lord by emotionalism and hype. Some think the anointing is a good shout or hoop and holler. We have to be able to discern by the spirit of God. I just believe in the old path. That path that leads to holiness. No she wasn't revealing. Again I was just saying this wasn't the Crystal Rucker I knew. Many have changed when they get into certain platforms. They will compromise for a dollar. Not saying this is her. But I have seen it. We must keep ourselves as people of the most high God untainted from the world. Although we are in it, we are not of it. Be bless!

Sarah Givens this is hard for many to receive. Modesty is the best policy. I didn't speak against what Crystal Rucker had on. She was not revealing. But I do believe that what we put on matters to God. If you would like, I would love to share more with you. And also my testimony of what the Lord through the years of my walk with him has done within me. And as we draw closer to The Lord, we become more and more like him. Therefore embracing the woman he has made us to be. In his likeness and image.
