@@AlastorShadow0 i've played every paper mario game except the original and sticker star. *BUT* Color Splash was my first ever PM game. I've heard Sticker Star is bad and after watching some things about the game I agree, I liked the old games better. Especially TTYD
I’m very happy about the voice change because the original speaking noise that everyone had is a liiiiiiiittle bit annoying to me but the different voices for each character are very nice to listen to
I honestly never thought it was annoying. It's also extremely nostalgic to me - but artistically, I still prefer these new dedicate voices so much more.
something i noticed is that some sprites have these little slivers of white on the edges of big shapes, implying they're imperfectly cut out! i think that's super charming
Unrelated, but I find it funny / fitting how you have Petalburg City's theme (from Pokemon Gen 3) playing during a Thousand Year Door video. (cuz theres also a town named Petalburg in TTYD)
Some people dislike the new back sprites? Are they insane? It ALWAYS bothered me as a little kid playing the first two games watching Mario walk north, and his partners are just staring at me facing forward 😂
@@invictrusespecially in end game when you can buy multiple of the same badge, that was a pretty cool move. Get a bunch of the damage up in danger mode badge, and combine it with say a multi bounce and you could literally kill any enemy in one attack, even the final boss, lol.
The way that the paper render is, showing that they have actually layers and back layers now rather than being fully paper, really makes the characters pop out. I really only see it cursed if you focused on that detail for too long though.
So i wonder of theyre gonna do something similar to the mario an luigi remakes where they let us play through what luigi was up to during ttyd Its a long shot that itll happen but itd be cool
Me too! Never got a chance to play the original, because back then we had PS2 instead of GameCube, and the physical copies can get really pricey, and they're mostly only for display purposes.😊
I’ve been playing it with Dolphin with the HD texture pack and widescreen mod and it’s such a great game dawg. I’m only nearing the end of chapter 3 and I already know this is gonna be in my top 5 games of all time.
Mario and Luigi also incorporated the dedicated sound text for unique characters since Bowser's Inside Story, it's pretty cool to see it in Paper Mario :)
I’m sure this is an unpopular opinion, but the old dialogue sound was actually incredibly relaxing to me. Maybe that’s just nostalgia, but it was a calmer sound.
Yeah, I like the examples he played but I wouldn't be surprised if some characters are annoying since it'd be incredibly hard to make every single one sound fine. It should be an option. No harm in options anyway. They'll do nothing for people who don't use them but fix the game for other people who might've skipped it or regretted buying it. Plus some people have their own ideas of how certain characters would sound & might not want their imagination contradicted for a game they've been playing for so long.
I’m still beyond happy that we even are getting this version. So many of us gave up hope on Paper Mario ever going back to this style, even for a remake. The addition of new characters/Toads (that aren’t generic) can only be a good thing for the future.
Eh, the new Toad could still pass as an Origami King character, he has no hair and has the standard male Toad base with one of the standard colors as the singular color for the whole outfit... They still seem kind of reluctant with actual new designs but maybe that takes a little time after three games with such harsh rules lol (After all, Alphadream still introduced completely new characters [Best Fitness Friends] in their last release, so I'm hoping they're allowed to do that too now)

Lots of amazing quality of light changes here. Beautiful sunrays from Petal Meadows, impeccable moonlight shining through Creepy Steeple, and a glorious glowing sunset in Riverside Station. Not to mention the soft and warm shadows that embrace the homes of Rougeport, oh and the spectacular display from the spell circle outside the Thousand Year Door itself. Yes, these lights certainly are quality! (Sorry, I've dedicated my life to being a nuisance :p)
It's closer to Undertale in terms of execution since it's the same sound over & over whereas Banjo Kazooie characters sound almost like they're actually talking but just total gibberish.
Even if its more of a minigame or he's with a certain badge loadout in a smaller adventure. They could also sell it as dlc, or a full game if this remake sells well enough.
Did you notice that Bowser yells "LUNKHEAD!!" at Kammy, instead of "AIRHEAD!!" (The scene where Kammy suggests going on a picnic in Petalburg, and for a second Bowser's like 'Oh, that sounds nice. WAIT, A PICNIC?', then he yells at her) It makes me so sad they changed that though. Bowser yelling Airhead was just so iconic😔
Very quality of light. Im actually so excited for this tho. I entered paper mario fandom with color splash and that along with origami king are some of my favorite games, and im really excited to play an even better version of what most paper mario fans say is the best one.
I actually truly loved the old voice sounds as it hit a sort of nostalgia ASMR button on my brain so I'm a bit bummed they changed it. However, I'm sure it's just a small thing I will easily forget about once I play it.
I cant wait its my favorite of all time still have my og gamecube and my disc and love that this is finally getting a remaster. But the voices, while new to PMTTYD we've seen in Mario and Luigi etc. before in a couple ds games like Bowsers inside story.
Definitely a day one purchase from me. TTYD was one of my favorite games as a kid and Ive been met with nothing but disappointment in every game released afterwards.
I would love it if every time Mario talked, he said one of his stock phrases, even if the phrase has nothing to do with what he said. Since all of Mario’s dialogue is implied anyway, I’d laugh my ass off every time.
I've heard a theory that they are removing Toadsworth entirely, and I'm very curious about if and how they will change things like Peach showering, Peach walking around naked (though invisible), and Vivian's identity. All that aside, still gonna be picking this up day 1.
@@joshbrucks I'm fine with them not changing anything, but we've already seen proof that it's not one-for-one so that's not an option. My point is that attitudes have changed since it first came out. So while I would be a bit disappointed, I wouldn't be surprised if they removed the Peach parts just to avoid backlash. The Vivian issue is something that shouldn't have even been changed for localization in the first place, so I'm all for changing it back.
I heard there were talks of censorship. A game full of death, drugs, cartels, money laundering. Probably gonna make the game easy enough for a kid who can’t read or math to finish as they watch 3 phones simultaneously displaying TikTok. With Fortnite somewhere in that equation.
After the Mario RPG remake, I really want to see what new content there will be that I'll only know because I've watched a LP because I have yet to play (well I played a bit emulating on my phone but still)
Just imagine for a sec they fuck up Sticker Star, Color Splash and Origamiking. Wouldn't it be hilarious if they would manage to make ttyd even better than before 😂
