Changes & Progress Check On My Owl Painting…Plus A Very Helpful Accessory! 

Hi Carra I started a JWall. I did my grouping as I do all my DPing paintings. Numbers first Alpha Bets. Anything that looked like a alphabet My last group was all the rest of symbols but I put them in DMC order. I normally do all my knitting's up this way. it was so much easier I tried other ways ways but my brain did better this way. I did 4 different ways and I just couldn't find find my drills that way. So I did my It worked so perfect for me. I do love the different colors of washing tapes not sure how it would work with the way I kit up. But it's not like I can't pull tape off. Thanks for showing the tip. I love the jars thingings though. I will look for those. That's why I love this communities. Too show us tips and different ways of doing these. Glad you all made it through the storm. We are on our way that way come Sunday. So glad we missed all the storms. Take care

I am absolutely speechless! First of all, thanks a million for bringing such inspiring, helpful and fun content to us all. Second of all, thank you for speaking to me directly of what i need before I start my 200+ colors canvas. I just hope she does not run out of supplies for us. I wish we lived closer so we can tackle that canvas and be frustrated together. Thank you for sharing!✋

Great tips! Plan on using your pool noodle idea with my container trays. I organize by lines, circles, squares, diamonds, letters, numbers, food, clothing, nature and symbols the rest. I keep the similar symbols together so when I am working with area that has similar symbols (sometimes looking with the magnifying glass) I can be sure to get correct symbol. After working for a while on the project even with so many symbols you get familiar with them. Working on a black and white version of JWall Bluebird from The One With the Diamond Art, 120x 150 cm, 240 colors. Plan on doing sections and then putting it up when I need a break from this intense project and work on other projects. Will take me longer to complete but I will not burn out.

I put everything in DMC order. Often the dmc is organised by colour, so this way very often the colours in the canvas have dmc that are close together. And for me it is easier to think in terms of the numbers instead of symbols. I end up memorising more easily this way

I arrange my symbols by circles, lines, arrows, just to name a few . 😊

That is such a big project and so many colors I've done big paintings but not so many colors let me just say your doing a good job keeping it together much love -snuggie

Hi, Carra. It's looking great! As you probably know, I am working on "Owl" too.. I also arrange by letter and number symbols. Then the white versus black symbols. Keyboard symbols (mathematical, punctuation, etc), easily recognizable (houses, coffee cups, martini glasses, etc.), Greek alphabet, arrows, circles, whatever helps your brain relate. What I am doing is working a row of containers at a time, that way you concentrate on 8 symbols, one at a time, but your brain tends to also find the ones you just recently used. It is definately getting much easier and faster for me. When I compare this with the actual artwork, the confetti makes tons of sense, it is really rendered well. Separate keyboard symbols from regular symbols that helps a lot. For me anyway. And it only works if you have keyboard symbols. And great job so far. 😉

I love the color organization on tube and than on the paper list amazing idea.😊 do you have any ideas for someone that's sick and in pain to do this art work better?

I'm working on the fever from diamond painting Deutschland I've separated them into things like transportation electronics anything that has to do with humans vehicles things like that and then I actually write it on the box it'll say humans or transportation or electronics and then I know exactly what box to look at

Hey there Carra, figure out categories for the symbols and organize them accordingly (like the star trek or upside down picnic table into Sci-fi or picnic categories) just a thought
