It's been a long time coming with the top turret seal being integrated.it was easy for that seal to end up not providing a proper seal of it got pushed up the flue elbow. Great video as usual!
With the old model there was always the "Independent" lower cost version, which was pretty well the best you could get for the price. Maybe they will get round to doing an equivalent landlord type version of this new model. I installed a few Independents and they were tremendous value and far better boilers than others in that price bracket...mostly Italian in origin ( Ideal used to sell a rebadged Biasi as their low cost combi years ago. It wasn't good )
@@timhancock6626 agreed fitted a couple esprit eco 2 i think they are exactly the same just rebadged? maybe updated. lower warranty. halfish the price of a logic plus max. great for someone starting out on the ladder. or tight arse landlords.
@@timhancock6626 They sell the base combi now it will be badges as a Eco Esprit from CPS a Instinct from Independants or Atlantic, also Pro combi and Classic versions pop up too all the same boiler, 5 yrs warranty
@@ian1104 same same. 19ner do we have a copy. when i phone in 6 years are the girls/boys/ men/ its where are the real specs for this boiler uploaded to? ill love to back them up now. saves me time ian i found 2 old cb i used to use. @@ian1104 yeah at a stupid price.i see the ideal repair guy sat in llangefni asda car park a lot when i go in for dinner. i nearly talked to him a coulple of times. he looked bored. and was bald. why are MI service engneers blald? or almost. bg thing?
Here I am on a week away looking at your videos. Busmans holiday. The cottage here has a cooker that is ID and 13 other serious issues, no safety cert to be found. The landlord gave me the number of the company who issued it but they will not reply or come out. Wood burner not fitted correctly has flue too short and missing glass and sets of the CO detector that is fitted 150mm from a corner a unvented cylinder with the PRV in speedfit,a cooker hose fitted sideways and strainng the hose,no bonding , LPG bottles directly by an openable window, I complete combustion on a hob burner, the oven keeps cutting out so suspect blocked bypass, 10kw wood burner and the 5 burner double gas oven cooker with no ventilation in the same room, the kettle plugs in and can sit in the sink full of water as socket too close. Gas pipe not sleeved through wall. The burners have incomplete combustion but thankfully the thermocouple kicks in but does leave gas as it is LPG.But all is ok as it passed it safety inspection apparently.
@@bigbadface yeah probably owned by a tight arse englishman/woman? reported faults to landlord (holiday let) not as bad as these not long ago all NCS or not what the MI's stipulate. no interest in getting it done right. god knows how the person carrying out the GSC managed it. boiler was so boxed in so you couldnt get the cover off or get to the flue sampling point let alone other stuff., probably just stuck the analylzer in from outside. apparently the boiler serviced box was ticked as yes being serviced at same time. no copy of the gas saftey cert in the property, i did get a name tho. my guess is they were lying. the english person and the welsh gas safe. there was that much gunk in the condensate trap.......... at least 10 years worthish. it was backed up into where it narrows and beyond on a bosch cdi. last made 2012. probably moved as it didnt have the original flue. in hindsight i should have taken the boiler serial number and checked where that was first fitted. if it was registered at all. typical sais (look it up) R Young most of what google tells you its translated to englishman, reality is it's usually a lot more. it's a derogatory term as well ;) i took plenty of boilers off the wall and binned them fitted by saeson(plural of sais) gas safe guys that were brought in by cheapskate english landlords. usually from manchester or birmingham areas. told a couple form essex to go ^%^% themselves too, the sais landlords i mean. last one was fitted by a vaillant accredited installer from what i remember from working in the area at the time. the boiler was fitted at such an accute angle the flue condense had been dripping down the back since day 1 i guess. 4-5 years worth. hadnt cancered through yet. reallity is either you want the job doing right and are willing to pay for it or you don't. being welsh or english doesnt come into it as does the colour of someone skin or their gender. i just closed the door on 1 landlord, wants me to put my head on the block to save him money. he cant get his head round why internal primary pipework should be lagged. eco warrior yet he wont spend on heatpumps - because he thought about it, hes getting no benefit is he from the higher install cost.
Is Ideal ever likely to bring a model with a side flue that can fit exactly where an old Ideal Standrard NF250 is currently installed, without the need for drilling new holes in the kitchen wall
about as likley as trying to get a private landlord to fit a heat pump. i have customers using a sideflue glowworm, kitchen(and house) is immaculate. marble worktops. nothing new will fit there. try and find even a cuboard door to match what they have..................kitchen was installed less than 5 years ago.
What ideal boiler would you recommend for a 3 bed I bathroom, I was looking at logic max c30 ,the older model, or is this new model better, tbh to much useless information on that screen for me
