Thank-you very much for posting. I took me 5 mins to change the bulb, due to your excellent video. Prior to watching it, I thought it would take me 5 hrs. !!!
Mark, Amazing. Looks like many people have offered their thanks, as I am doing now. I had to let Halfords do the last one and of course it isn't free anymore! Using your video I changed the passenger side bulb in under 3 mins IN THE RAIN ! Cheers!!!
Had to replace a lamp for lighting. The manual also explains that, but I failed. There was no movement possible. My car is 9 years, so everything is a bit firmer than normal. Thanks to your video, I have used the tips and now I manage very well. Most importantly, I had confidence in the actions. Also I'm going to replace the bulbs completely next year (aging plastic). So thank you so much for the good, clear and accurate video. Groetjes, Michel
My god that was a pain in the arse. I had the facelift so a little different, my housing wouldn’t move at all even after I did all the clips, had to trust that I had done it right, and strong armed the bastard out. No idea why it was stuck fast. But your video helped immensely. Even after all these years people still find this helpful. Thanks 🙏
If you ever do another video would be great to see how to check the fuses for headlights as owners manual is very poor at showing which fuse is what and your instruction are very clear I managed to change both head light bulbs within 5 mins thanks as I am sure I would have been faffing around much longer without your help cheers!
Thank you for posting this video - it saved my life ha ha - was pulling my hair out trying to change the bulb going by Ford's booklet that came with the car - never mentioned the clip to release the housing nor did it mention the four clips behind. Thanks again
Damn mark, thanks. Easy as....... after watching this. Slightly different for a 06 focus rather than a cmax, as mine has 2 clips on the bottom, but both dipped headlight bulbs changed in 20 minutes even after forgetting to put th cover back on till after I refitted the light - doh. Halfords charge 6 quid each bulb. best 12 quid I ever saved. Thanks
Thanks! That worked perfectly on my 55 plate focus too. Last time I went to halfords to replace headlight bulb they told me that they wouldn't because it was too awkward. Watching this video made me realise I could do it myself. 5 mins, no swearing, done!
I guess im randomly asking but does someone know a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the password. I love any help you can give me.
@Jairo Melvin Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Thanks very much. Turned to RU-vid when I could not work it out from manual. I found that even after removing the screw and the 2 clips the light assembly would only move a very small amount. Only by pushing and sliding did it finally come out. After that it was easy!
@B D can you please quickly help me with changing the small sidelight bulbs on the same car?? I am able to replace the headlamps but not the park light (Sidelights). Very difficult to understand them and I have not seen anywhere on the youtube!!!
Hi Edwin, perhaps like me you were confused with which bulb is which. I replaced the offside/driver side bulb. As you look at the unit you have the full beam on the left and the low beam on the right, but also in the low beam housing is the side light, you have to bob down and look upward to see it. Once you have identified it, it’s a simple pull out and push-in replacement. Try not to touch the bulb glass with your fingers, use a tissue or piece of cloth. The bulb cost me about £1.50 at a main dealer. Hope that helps.
@@BD-rr3up It is to-day because of you that I have made it!!!!' I never thought it could be a push-in and pull-out style..after reading your helpful response, I pricked it up off with a flat screw driver and it just simply as if there it is oiled, came out so easily. I have now replaced both sides. I am so grateful for you being around us this time God bless you for you are a good man.
Thanks for the video mate. Worked a treat on my Ford Focus Zetec 08. Only a few minor differences but the same principles applied. Will save me having to pay Halfords £7 to fit lights everytime my super brilliance lights die.
Cheers mate! The neighbors now think I'm a mechanic that knows exactly what I'm doing as it looked like I just removed the whole front of my CMAX for something major... in reality just to change a bulb.
I had two clips at the back (2008), for those who have the same: No need to remove the back, there's a rubber cap for each bulb. There's no metal clip neither, it's more like a bayonet mount so you just have to turn it to the left (with the bulb still in it) and once it's out then you can simply pull the bulb out from the connector and replace it.
Thanks for this video. Had worked out that it was going to be "fun" removing the whole unit but this video helped to see just how to work it out. Thanks
Just done this same job on my Focus C-Max (54 Plate). I noticed you only have one clip on the back of yours at the bottom, on mine there are 2, one left of centre and one right. Your one towards the centre of the engine seems to have snapped as the stalk is still there but not the rest of the clip.
you could use flat screwdriver to open the screw. if you look carefully on screw you could see one straight line where you can use flat screwdriver. no need special torx screw driver
FYI I just changed mine without any headlight removal, You can reach the bulb after you take the cap off in the back. There is enough room you can twist the bulb and see how you are doing through the front of the light. These lights are not made to be removed easily and plastic breaks so don;t do it.
Mark Berthelemy Bulb is a H7. Started trying to change my bulb today. before even watching this video..ended up half dismantling the entire front then gave up as I realized that what I was doing could not possibly be right! Bingo! Scheiß clip! tomorrow I will now succeed! Thanks for the video! ;)
It proves to me that Ford designers are bunch of stupids ,,I just replace the bulbs in a Toyota in about 3 minutes and in a focus i have to ask for help here ,still I need to get the whole unite out before to be able to replace the bulb That's stupid ....Thanks for the video....
frewof had I read your comment before I dont think I could buy this Ford I have! I had to come in many forums trying to find out how to remove these bulbs. Now I have to cross my fingers if the bonnet will open!!!Who told them that the ignition key should be used for opening the bonnet with a very delicate system that fails each time you would want to open it. So I agree with you.
feckin fords, had do do this on gf's cmax .. only ford could design a headlamp that needs to be removed to change the bulb, i could change all the bulbs in my bmw in less time than this..
