Bernardine and Conrad Bering have cultivated a lot of gardeners since they opened Barton Springs Nursery in 1986 with the motto "Grow Plants for Travis County in Travis County." They’ve shown us how to create beautiful gardens that don’t need lots of water or pampering. When native plants were hard to source, they propagated them. With fun, passion, dedication, and long, hard hours, they’ve changed our philosophical landscape.

How sweet of you! I'm not comfortable being in front of the camera, but prefer producing and editing from the other side. Thanks for being on the CTG team!

Yes please! Hey believe it or not it's a growing community man, I've worked in the industry around Central and South Texas for a bit; and while on one hand it's great to see more people getting into the plant world, the other side would be that OUTSIDE of Austin, there is not many young people doing or learning about it... I'm 31 as of today and most of the time am the youngest person working at the nurseries who's serious about learning more: ( Hoping for the best though of course!
