changing my life! (again) 

I've been a contractor for 18 years building houses. I'm over it, I'm about to do a career change, my son has 1 year left of school and I don't think I can wait that long, and yes I'm a single full time dad

Lol me and u have the same dream. Right now I want to rent out one of my rooms in my condo in cali. After I get 75% of my house paid off I'm buying either a peicr of land in South Dakota and building a camping / nomad area or a small house in Maine and renting it out 8 months of the year and staying in it the off season. Finger crossed I can get my house paid down in 7 yrs and start that dream. Best of luck to u

I love the tiny house community idea, but the logistics of that would be a doozie. I’d certainly want to stay on your land and do work exchange. I also looked into the shipping containers for homes but never got further than walking into one. I hope this works out for you! I am still lost on my journey and hoping to find my life’s purpose. Planning to move back down south by my birthday in July. Fingers crossed.

Living in a converted shopping container is my dream someday as well. Problem I’m finding in my area is finding a piece of land near my job that is zoned for this.

ive lived in a couple of community living situations before, so if you need any ideas on that front i could weigh in at some point in the future. i've done a house style one and a community style one complete with outside shower and toilet. this is an interesting idea, i hope that your shipping container airbnbs idea sells well. have you considered buying cheap vans/minivans and decking them out on the cheap ala cheaprvliving to sell to others? i've recently purchased a few lightweight but high quality items that could be used for home/camp/vandwelling and are super modular, if you were interested I could share that info as well. you'll probably make your intentional community in SC? but if you made it out west i would seriously consider joining. i really have no interest in living in SC or the east coast in general long term. i'm doing meh but trying to heal from my cptsd issues and i hope you are doing well with regards to your panic disorder. i really would love to visit so don't think i forgot about you. just struggling with some shitty life stuff is all. this spring i definitely want to find time to head down for a day or something at the very least. anyway i'm rambling at you, what's new. miss your face.

Oh, good. You decompressed. No social media. To think. I'm only on RU-vid, myself, and I have no plan on EVER being on ANY other social media, PERIOD. If I were to ever be on something else, it would be for a very specific reason, and I would be looking to delete it asap. But, you'll know it's me. But, I'm highly unlikely to be on any other social media besides RU-vid. I just don't know anyone, so no reason for me to have social media. Plus, people in general just aren't interested in me. I think it would be interesting to see a neighborhood with houses in it built solely out of shipping containers. Like, put one on top of another, and the one on top is the second floor. Put two or three next to each other for width in the house. Most shipping containers are 53 feet from front to back, so one shipping container is good for length. Along time ago I was commissioned to make 3d models of cargo containers for mine workers in North Dakota. I was given AutoCad files that I put into 3ds Max (because it uses C++) and converted them into FBX files to work on in Maya, (because I prefer using Maya). Contractor of the site only wanted the images to put into his presentation.
