I resonate alot with your statement of people feeling uncomfortable when you're griefing too long (for their own comfort). it's been almost a year after a very traumatic situation happened in my life and the majority of people in my life wanted me to move on faster, find a new relationship as soon as possible, thinking I'm not griefing the life that got ripped away from my own hands so unexpectedly. I feel you, Anja. It is very unfair und sad to know that there arent alot of people out there who truly care as much as you do. ♥

Thank you for sharing, and I'm so sorry to hear that you went through a traumatic situation and the grief that comes with it. And also about the people around you. It's so difficult when your 'support system' doesn't really support you in time of need. It is a hard lesson in reality. You are right that not many people care the same as we do. Take care of yourself. You take all the time you need. Bless you. 🙏💛
@Smithpolly
@Smithpolly Месяц назад
That's kind of two way street though , isn't it? Have you being concerned about what's going on in their lives? Have all the people in your life being coming to you telling you all their problems and the issues they've been dealing with for the last year, while you acted as their "support system". And if they did would you be able to keep being the sympathetic friend to all of them all the time or would you have to draw a boundary so that you wouldn't end up being swamped?
@Dee_Idie

@@Smithpolly hey, it seems like you're projecting right now. My statement is vague yet supporting of Anja's feelings. That's all.

@@Dee_Idie You wrote " It is very unfair und sad to know that there arent alot of people out there who truly care as much as you do," I assume you're referring to the people in your life that you don't think have been sympathetic enough to you. So my question to you is, are you spending as much time focused on their problems and their issues (and they must have some ) as you are expecting them to be focused on yours?

I am so sorry for all your losses. Loving animals is so incredible and so painful at the same time. And when you are an introvert who feels things more deeply it is even more difficult. I'm very much an introvert like you. People say they will be there for you in tough times and you can tell them anything, but in my experience this is not true when it comes to it. I've been burnt like this before and I've realised it's actually much better just to deal with these things myself than to open up to somebody and realise they don't really care and they don't really want to know. This is especially hard when you have been there for that person through their dark times, but they won't do the same for you.

Oh I’ve missed you and so happy you’re back. Glad you’re going to focus on taking care of your self, it’s so important. So sorry to hear of your losses and the disappointment with the support around you. I understand that feeling and again having that inner strength to get through hard times is what we can depend on. My cat is 17 and I dread her loss. Grief is the price we pay for loving. So happy you’re here and that table is beautiful, great job restoring it. Wishing you much calm and contentment 🌸

Rochelle, I really missed your comments too! :) You are right, self care is so important, and so is our inner strength during hard times. I remember that I also started to dread the loss of my cat at around 16/17. And I was thinking about it a lot during that time. Just the thought alone is so painful. Luckily she did have very good years still and I was able to enjoy her company. I hope your cat gets very, very old and you get a lot of time together :) But indeed grief is the price we pay for love. Take care. 💛

It’s lovely to see a video from you, Anja. I think some people, perhaps quite a large number, can - to use an English idiom - be ‘fair weather friends’. People who are around for the good times, the successes, the highs. But not to be found when someone is going through hardship or loss or failure or grief. And part of that is surely what modern society teaches us about ‘success’ - it tends to lead to superficiality in relationships, rather than those of deep meaning. A 1,000 social media ‘friends’ but no-one who will call on you to check you’re doing okay. I hope you’re doing okay after this period of grief. Your gentle, counter-cultural thoughts on this channel are really valued.

Your thoughts and development are very inspiring, thank you for sharing and I think you're headed in a good and healthy direction. You can be so proud of pulling yourself out of a dark place - it's one of the hardest things to do! Focussing on a consistent state of calmness reminds me of the ancient greek philosopher Epicurus. He called that concept Ataraxia, maybe you're interested in reading more about it. Amazing work on that table by the way and so relaxing to watch! Would you consider making a video about the things you do to help your nervous system? I hope you're having a lovely day!

Hi Anja, i am so happy to find your video tonight, i have missed them! But i see you have been through a lot. I wish i could offer you more comfort than this note but i want to say that i have the same love for animals as you and i know those losses really take a toll on us. One of my two cats is doing an overnight at the vet right now and i hope to have her back in my apartment tomorrow. I have learned so much from what you say to us, your audience and friends. I have done so much in my home, given away so many things. I like it better like this. I have not used my living room couch in 2 years! I have floor cushions now. I love reading and watching youtube on the cushions and my cats can have me at their level and be closer to me. I, too, struggle with anxiety and am making some small changes in my life to reduce stress. I always thought i had many things in common with you, though i am older and live in NY. It doesn’t matter where we are. Your words resonate with me. Adrienne, your NY friend

@@AnjasArtWorld i’m so glad to hear from you, Anja. My cat Janie, the black cat, has been to the cat hospital twice for an overnight stay each time. Glad to say she has pulled through and she doesn’t have a bad heart problem like my vet thought she did. It is just a little heart murmur. Not bad. I have to crush a pill and put it in her breakfast every day. That’s all. But after the heart test, she stopped eating for 3 days. So back to the cat hospital and it turned out she had a little virus and a high fever. So i wanted her to stay there with the vet for a couple of days. She pulled through. She seems fine since then, i was scared though. And for me, well, for all of last year and the beginning of this year, my stomach doctor told me i probably have colon cancer but after 8 months of tests, i don’t have it. Just kind of a mild condition that is not bothering me much at all. And yes, my clearing out is making me so happy. The less the better. I have given so many clothing items away. And bought nothing but some new underwear and a pair of jeans. Instead of shopping, i have donated my shopping money to several different animal charities. I even gave away a couch! But i did keep the ottoman ( the part that you can put your feet on, if you were sitting on the couch) because my two cats love to lay on it! I kept it for them. My second cat, the gray one, i adopted one year ago this week. She is called Lola. The two of them love each other and get along great. I really enjoy my two Amazon cushions on the carpet for a year or more now. One for my head and one for the rest of me! It’s so great. You were right. Thank you so much for writing! You made my day!

@@AdrienneMint Omg Adrienne, what a story. It makes me a bit silent, and also sad too. How scary that must have been when you doctor thought you might had colon cancer. That's really terrifying, and then for 8 months living in insecurity and undergoing all those test. God bless you. But I am so, so relieved to hear it's not that but a mild condition instead. Thank god. That is so scary to go through. And also with your cat Janie. Health conditions are so terrifying. Good to hear her condition is treatable. Heartmurmer sounds scary but so glad it's nothing worse. It's always frightening when they stop eating :( I had this the other day too with Laurier, he sometimes does that too when not feeling well and I now also have medicine for that. But panic mode immediately gets activated doesn't, it. It's so good to hear that cleaning out and minimizing makes you feel good and that you gave away so many things. I love that you could donate to the animal charities. That you look out for those animals. Take care

I’m saying the following in the nicest way possible. You sound like me a couple of years ago. I felt like it was so difficult to not be overwhelmed, difficult to be happy and ‘care free’. Everything seemed so heavy. ‘Normal life’ and the hustle culture made me feel bad and anxious. So I looked for spirituality on the internet. You sound like you did the same thing. You talk about how ‘from now on’ you will think/do this or that in hopes to feel calm and happy. Sis, the thing that saved me was medication and after that I could slowly build on my life after my severe anxiety/depression. Not saying you should take medicine, but it sounds like you live a very sober/lonely life (correct me if I’m wrong), because you might be uncomfortable around others or you get overwhelmed ‘easily’. I feel like you need some great friends to hang out with and maybe a partner after that. Go on group vacations, go out with coworkers. We are not meant to be alone and at first it can be hard to find friends who you can do these things with. But please, for your happiness’ sake, don’t take life too serious and go dancing with the first person who wants to go with you ❤ correct me if I’m totally wrong, you just sound SO much like me a couple years ago…

People can be so uncaring when it comes to loss of pets. I grew up with pets and have had pets through my life. Right now two cats. The loss of our beloved pet/pets just breaks our hearts every time they get sick and dies. So, I know what you’ve been through and how you feel. When I was younger, young like you, I cared a lot about other people and their feelings and rarely got that empathy and sympathy back. Many people just can’t take it when we feel low, depressed and especially when it comes to grief. You will change as you get older and I hear it already in your words. When in my age (plus 50 that is) you may feel more like “I’m in mourning and if you can’t handle it, well, that’s your problem” and you just shrug it off. You will have some nearest and dearest who actually can understand but don’t be surprised if they stop sympathizing if your grief or depression “takes too long”. Always look after yourself, be a bit selfish without feeling bad about it. I find you a remarkable strong, beautiful and caring person inside and out. Lovely table and your rabbit seems to love it too 🙂 Love and hugs 🌹💗

Anja, I'm sorry for your loss and suffering. I had cared for many pets for most of my life and it has always been difficult to watch them get sick and to lose them, as it is when you love and lose people in your life. Grief is very solitary and personal and everyone does it differently and it can be difficult for other to understand your feelings.The trouble with caring for small animals is that their life span is often short and so the losses are sooner. My last cat was so special to me. She was so loving and was a huge comfort to me when I was recovering from a serious injury. Towards the end of her life she became very ill and eventually we had to have her euthanised. Since then, we have not had another pet. It is good that you have another strong passion to help you through. I hope with one door closing you will discover a new passion that brings you love and contentment.

Aw sweet animals. We had two Holland lopp rabbits for a few years that died a year and a few months apart (last one died two Decembers ago). It was really sad. We no longer have animals. Your sweet animals are lovely. I am sorry to hear about the cat you had. That is a long life it lived. It is okay to change your priorities in order to make sure you feel that peace. I am sorry to hear that you felt helpless at times or guilt in regards to your pets. I loved seeing you repairing this. It turned out so pretty! These art films are really unique! I liked seeing them at the end of your video.

Thank you so much for all your kind words. And I can understand that you no longer have animals, it's so difficult to lose them. I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed the table repairing and the artworks at the end. This was from an exhibition from Marina Abramovic, it was really good 😊

I’m sad that you feel it’s better to have no pets so you don’t have to go through pain. Don’t ever forget the love you had for them ❤

Sorry for your loss it’s never easy. I have tortoises 🐢 and although they could still get ill, if looked after well they will outlive me. I love them so much and they are such little characters.

Thank you, Kasia. I was thinking about tortoises to be honest. How are they as pets, do they interact a lot? It's so funny to hear that they have their own little characters 🙂

@@AnjasArtWorld I have 2 Russian tortoises or (horsfields) they stay small, so you can keep them in an enclosure about 6x3ft minimum. I use old bookshelf’s with reinforced bottoms for mine. They are happy on their own, and they really do have unique personalities, mine are both the same age from the same breeder but one is shyer than the other. If you have the space for something bigger Herman’s tortoises are personable and bigger than that red foot or cherry heads. It depends on space and your weather conditions as what would work best for you. I would suggest maybe looking @gardenstatetortoise or @kampkenan here on RU-vid they have lots of advice of enclosures and what different breeds need. Research is key, it’s just unfortunate there is so much miss information about but I trust these 2 sources. There is an amazing tortoise community on instagram also. ❤️
