Keep your name! I'm 75 and I LOVE YOU GUYS! About 12 years ago I had a book store in the South Bronx, the neighborhood I grew up in. We named that store BOOKS IN THE HOOD! My son still sells books as a vendor! Most people loved and still love our name! Of course like you guys we had a few haters. So I'm glad you are proud of who you are. Love you GHETTO VEGANS!

Love your name. We, the people are really feeling that squeeze. The money doesn't stretch. Utility bills are horrendously high. For a lot of us it's a nightmare trying to survive. Don’t change your name. My fam lived all over Compton and Watts. We stayed outside ‘till the street lights came on, playing jacks, jump rope, dodge ball, hop scotch, hand games, roller derby and so much more. Best childhood ever! Everybody from all over LA came through in droves to see the elaborate Christmas decorations. We even did Christmas caroling, lol. Never saw a “drive by”.

I definitely subscribed because of the name and y’all are so relatable. Y’all were one of the first channels I started following when I went on my plant based journey 2 years ago. I learned how to cook and season the beyond beef from y’all. Learned how to cook the Mexican pizzas and so much more from y’all. I love the breakdown of why y'all have your name. I never asked, but I did wonder and I've been subscribed for at least 2 year's now. When it comes to names though I'm big on how I define myself and what I call other's. I truly believe in having names that have a defined meaning bc you're speaking that meaning onto yourself or others.... Whatever it is. This is why I hate mispronouncing anyone's name. 😅💜💜🥰

I was one of those prissy people from the ghetto lol. My childhood wasn't that bad, all things considered. In fact, the worst part of my childhood happened when I wasn't in the ghetto. I'm eating Asian food along with you. I've had Ethiopian food before and it's really good. I wasn't a big fan of the bread, but everything else was good. As far as names go, I don't think it's that bad. I've heard worse, like Slutty Vegan. That's a very off putting name for me, but to each their own.

Thanks for explaining. I like y’all name, but I didn’t know the reasoning behind it. I’ve now learned that ghetto itself is simply about being poor and minority. We add stereotypes to the ghetto by assuming it’s unhappy, low morale, and heavily crime-ridden.
