This video is also a primer for the 2017 S550 4matic. Same same. Only 1 wear sensor is needed on the right rear caliper housing. Excellence as usual Wayne. Regards. Rick
Why do my rear brakes go out so often on my 2016 s550. I got 45K miles and they went out again. Last time was like 2 years ago at 27K miles. Do your rears wear out that fast? Fronts last way longer. Thx
My front brakes wear out faster than my rear. It also depends on what you buy, meaning quality and or another manufacturer, not Mercedes. It's a catch 22 where you buy another brand and it last longer, but your brakes sqeeek versus how often they go out.
Thx for getting back to me. I used oem rotors and pads. I’m just going to replace the pads this time. Honestly can’t believe how quick the tears go out. Thx again. Nice video ms you do too. Cheers
P.S. I don't replace rotors at all unless absolutely necessary. I replaced once and ask the dealership, why previous owner replaced it so much on the car history, they said not unless you have to.
Do you have to take the sensor off to have the option of brake pad replacement? Cause I pressed the phone button and OK button but dont get the option of replacing brake pads? I have a 2015 S350 Bluetec
The sensor only comes off if the brake light indicator comes on in your dashboard. Rewatch the video because there is a certain sequence and order in which to hold down the buttons. The other reason is your button combination could be different than the phone and OK buttons.
There are some things I refuse to do on my car. Brake, Radiator, and transmission flush is one of them. I will gladly give them my money for that. To each is own.
