Thanks. This was helpful. Another thing to consider is to check the o-rings below the thread. If this is compromised you could flood your house. Remove the o-ring to inspect for cracks, etc. Before reinstalling or replacing the o-ring lubricate the o-ring with FOOD GRADE Silicone Grease. Be sure to use Food Grade, you are drinking this water after all. Something else I found helpful was to have a small bucket to catch the excess water from the filters once they are removed.
You are so welcome. We did it because we couldn't figure out how, and once we did we thought...hey...there are probably a lot of people out there with this same system that are having, or going to have trouble! Thank God for the Internet!
Thanks for this video - I bought a 2-year replacement pack, and it only came with two types of filters - the pre-filter and the carbon filter. I was worried that I was missing a third type of filter until I watched your video. Now I can rest easy :)
Thank you for great advice! Here is what was extrimly helpful for me. I had difficulty unscrew filter cartridges. But then I did as you say, draining water out of tank. Then I was able to unscrew cartridges.Thank you again you was very helpful!
Thanks! So glad it helped you. I feel "unstoppable" sometimes because of all the fabulous information people post for each other on 'the web"...keep it up America!
Thanks for posting this video! I got everything replaced but wasn't sure if there was any special order to turn things back on and couldn't find my manual to check. I agree -- why don't they make videos for these? A little behind the times, perhaps? :)
ok I wanna say some thing about install the last one.....when u install the last stage 1st install it to the T side by rotating it until it go all the way to the T THEN instead of rotate the hose which may break it remove the end fitting connected to the blue hose install the L shape fitting to the stage and rotate until it go all the way in then connect the end fitting again wizout twisting the hose ...thnx
mine has the 1 x 1/4 NPT connector between the 10' filter housing broken and I had no idea why it was broken,,,it was 10 years system. it was a plastic. I plan to replace the 1/4 nipple NPT connector with brass ones (in homedepot)
It depends on how much water is filtered. I found I needed to change the prefilters every year, and the main filter about every 18 months. Entirely depends upon how much water is being filtered.
