In order to use an SCR voltage controller to control a treadmill motor usually the potentiometer that comes with the SCR needs to be replaced with a smaller one. Using two smaller ones of different sizes gives you a course and fine speed control. This video shows you how to determine what size potentiometer you need and if you so choose, how to run two of them for fine speed control.
