If you want to know what kind of gas to use use shell mid- grade 89 octane it's a top tier fuel there's absolutely no ethanol or methanol in it or last forever they recommend it for motorcycles boats Sea-Doos whatever seasonal rides I guess anyway just a little tidbit that's all right turning on right on dude love your show bud love it!!!
I have 2006 honda shadow spirit vt750DCB same bike in the video The owner manual of vt750DC said that the tank capacity is 13L with reserve 4L reserve Does this correct?? Today I was empty of gas without any reserve but the tank took only 10L Why does this happened and what can cause this difference of tank capacity the tank is original and the bike was upright when I filled the tank also the petcock and filter are new i changed them before i fill up the tank
That’s a great question! At the very bottom of the tanks left and right sides are wells. The way the tanks is designed it sort of wraps around the bike frame. The right side can’t get over the frame and reach the petcock.. Myself personally have not ever been able to get true volume of the tank. So I always made the point to get fuel and reset the odometer every 160 kilometers.. I do this because I have been out and ran out of gas twice where the reserve had trouble turning over the bike! Basically it come down to the design
@@Thevalleygarage After doing research on the internet , today in the morning I went again to the gas station and tried to refill the tank, but slowly. In fact, 2.5 liters of fuel were added, in addition to 10.5 liters yesterday. So, the problem was in the method of filling the fuel and air inside the tank. After that I will check how much is the consumption of gas but also I have an aftermarket air filter and exhaust Does you refill your tank every 160km without using the reserve or with the reserve ?
@@frontendwithsalimi yea exactly I’d rather not use the reserve unless I really had to… I’m positive you can get 20 or more so easily but I’d rather be in the safe side personally
i have a 2006 honda shadow spirit vt750dcb same bike in the video main jet 98 pilot jet 38 with after market exhaust and after market air filter the last odometer was 197.7 when i filled my tank now the odometer is 274.2 in this odometer i turn on the petcock to the reserve and i go immediately to he gas station it was near me the odometer is in mile not in kilometer i fill the tank with 10 liter of gas i was riding my bike in the city most gear used are first and second gear my question is does the fuel consumption is normal or not? And what should I do to have better fuel consumption? If I change the main jet to 105 front and 108 rear with 40 pilot jet does this will make a better fuel consumption?
That’s as good as I ever got, The shadow is not really a fuel efficient bike compared to other cruisers. Honda states 90 kilometers (56 Miles per gallon) in perfect conditions.. depending how you ride (heavy on the) locations (flatland, valleys, and temperature) even altitude will play a significant role and how the motor performs… if you can get around these you’re doing pretty well… in my opinion, I would not touch the Jets from factory. There really isn’t a reason to change that. Though that’s my opinion, I wouldn’t want to go through all that to gain (or lose)… plus there are two carburetors not one and it’s a pain to get to from underneath the gas tank
@@Thevalleygarage So good so it's normal range also I ride on a high rpm sometimes like 40 km on 1 60 km on 2 I was asking about the main jet and pilot jet because I changed the carburetor before so it's not from the factory for that I'm not sure if this are factory jet or not do you have any idea on the factory main jet and pilot jet in this bike
I have the same bike When I ride the bike on first gear and before arrive to the highest rpm I need to step on the gas pedal more and the bike take 1 or 2 seconds to respond and go faster like there's delay or lag. Air filter is clean fuel filter is new and clean fuel pump is good carburetor is clean and sync so how to solve this problem?
Does that happen in the other gears? You may be hitting the rev limiter up in the high rpm’s. Also does it happen when the bike is warmed up all the way after 20 mins of riding or so. If the bike is still cold you bog down by whipping the throttle to open too fast aswell.. also run some fresh gas through too for better performance
@@Thevalleygarage I noticed this happening in second gear if I didn't hit a high rpm on the first gear I will recheck after a 20min of riding if this happen or no and I will told you
Hey quick question any videos for dummies step by step for taking off my factory turn signals and installing the one.s I got off Amazon. I just did my mirrors. I seen on your video today u went with similar style as I had bought from Amazon mirror wise. Idk if this will let me send u a Pic of my new signals on here. But I will try. Or better yet take my butt home and sit in front the big screen with a cold bud light and see if you already flhave a video on there. Also I'm totally lost on how to install my hand grips or whatever tf they call them I bought pointy ones but ifk if they rt or not . I wanna buy the cone shaped to a point air filter and intake next probably tonight. What should I do like procedure wise start from factory , and make it its own bad ass beast of power. Should I go with figure out to get the gd 100 moh cutoff governor destroyed taken off or idk. Just gotta let my bitch ride like she meant to be.. anyway no idea what to start with but as I do shit I'm gonna be attempting to try something else new ans get vinyl car wrap and heat gun and kit and try my hand at that's I go.i may do spark plugs first. That video was simple enough taught I may be able to take care of that next. Lol. Any input is appreciated. Ans thank you hVe a blessed evening
I made a Vally Grommer Facebook page if you can find me add as a friend and you can send a pic of your signals if you’d like. Should be a matter of cut, strip, crimp three wires But with out a pic it’s hard to see…. As for hand grips you can try to take apart the control perch where the turn signals and highbeam switches are and use your airgun from your air compressor and blow behind the grip while twisting the left grip should slide off (it will be a bitch) there’s grip glue underneath.. same goes for the throttle but it’s on a tube which makes I’d a bit more challenging but not impossible…. As for the 100mph cut off you can eliminate that by installing a power commander from Dynojet. I made an install video for that install. They go for $500 but you can modify the fuel and air mixture by choosing different maps from dyno jet. Then you can run new pipes and air intake without running too rich or lean.. I hope this helps a little bit at least give you some idea on what you can do.… I think a vinyl wrap might look pretty cool best part is you can take it off and change it!!! Keep Rippin!!✌️
@@Thevalleygarage i have same shadow 2006 honda shadow vt750DCB A what is the oil viscosity for the fork? Can i use atf oil for the fork? How many ml of oil should i have for each fork? Can you help me please in this information
@@frontendwithsalimi Yes so my findings is 16oz per fork leg.. 10W Weight is the standard for the average rider and what usually is stock. That’s what I put in mine!
So my 2009 Honda Shawdow 750 fuel filter is not sitting where yours is. Does that mean it was modified? And if it does run is there another way to run fuel out of line to change?
There’s a chance you may not have a fuel filter like mine... Some 09 Honda’s added Fuel Strainers that are sitting just above the On/Off/Reserve fuel switch OEM Part no. 16952-MEG-003 .. It’s a mesh screen tube about 6inches in length that will go up into the take… very rare that you’d have to change it Honda recommends to change every 20,000 miles… I changed my filter just because I was selling the bike and I wanted to be 100%
I need help, lol I’m not sure what’s causing this. My bike hesitates and sputters. Fresh oil, plugs, and air filter as of today. It’s a 2005 Honda shadow aero 750
Interesting 🤨 How’s the fuel filter? Fresh gas in the bike or just out of storage? Possible carburetor issue like dirty jets??.. You could also try putting Seafoam or a carb cleaner in the gas tank and see if it clears up!! Or check/ change the fuel filter 👍 you’re on the right track!!! Theses are some suggestions I could consider!! Hope this helps a little
The fuel filter should be located on the Left hand side behind the cover plate where the built in tool box is. If you don’t have carburetors or a round canister style filter like my Shadow 750 has in the Video. Then your Shadow would fuel injected. If that’s the case then the fuel filter would be located at the very bottom of the fuel pump assembly. Personally, I wouldn’t change it unless you really had to. It’s incredibly involved. You must take off the seat, both side covers, remove the battery, and remove the battery holder and toolbox. At that point, you’ll have to disconnect the gas lines and the electronic line for the fuel pump remove the entire fuel pump and then pull the canister off the fuel pump, and you’ll have the ability to change out the fuel filter, which is about 3 inches round flat filter. It cost about 6 bucks… an alternative solution is to use GumOut fuel injector/gas cleaner additive
I’ve looked up the Honda schematics for the fuel filter and for the 99 C3 Aero have the same filter.. Honda Part# Part# 16900-MG8-003 and it looks like it would be located under the seat in front of the battery box somewhere to that area/effect judging by the exploded view of the Honda fuel tank, filter, and pump… Should be very close to the same spot!!
@@Thevalleygarage I think it's more underneath and in front of the rear wheel. I've heard of multiple approaches on forums, and the most common is go to it from below, but some indicate removing the battery box and other things to get to it. If you'll notice on the schematic, the line running to the carburetor tee is continued and moved over.
@@OtayBuckwheat Ohh I see what you mean it looks like it would be right there just beyond reach…Swing Arm!!!! 🤦♂️ now that is a little too excessive.. seat and battery box would be much easier to open up!
@@Thevalleygarage The most popular response on forums was elevate the rear end and go from underneath even though there's only room for one hand. Once located with a flashlight.. feel your way, was one entry.
I could be mistaken, but I believe the 1800 series being that it is a significantly larger motor. The fuel filter might actually be in the bottom of the fuel pump, much like the Honda Fury.
Im not sure, it will be a in-line filter like this one or a in the tank filter like some VTX have. You’ll have to look to see if you have an in-line like this and the video if not, it’s probably in the tank.
Dude are all those bikes your bikes if they are what you do win the lottery Grandpa die and leave you a bunch of money I want to know I want to know just curious God bless buddy
