In some of Becky's earlier videos, she talks about calculating what her and her husband spent eating out or ordering food in, in a year. It was in the thousands of dollars. This drove her to meal plan, prep and cooking at home. As a retiree, cooking at home is a huge cost savings. Does it get old, yes but having meals in the freezer to pull out and in the oven takes care of the cooking burn out. While the meal is in the oven, I can chill and sip on a glass of ice tea or wine. ~ Rhonda

I have been waiting for Becky to come on The Beet since you mentioned it a while back. I have been following her from the start, she inspires me as much as your podcast and RU-vid does. Thank you for having her own.

I think it’s Becky’s honesty and friendly personality that is appealing. She is a glass half full person and has a can-do optimism. She doesn’t make everything look perfect, but rather she reflects real life. What are the 2 books that she said influenced her so much? If that was said, I missed it.

one was Barbara Kingsolver's Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. That one resonated with me, and I lover it. I didn't really catch the second book that she mentioned, I was multitasking and the book that stood out was the one that I loved.

I have been watching Becky for a long time. And this came up youtube, and this is fantastic podcast. Becky is not only amazing and everything. She does, but she is a testimony of how to step out. Give something to try and the difference it makes in the meal your cooking, Your pantry and how it can be such a blessing to your family. Our pantry I know has helped so many people. And it's amazing when you try pressure. Kidding. The availability it gives you for that. Grab and go meal or that quick meal? Put together or to store it if you don't have a freezer. The other thing is, there was a time we were without power and water. Because we have a well and we were able to eat meals because they were shelf ready.

I live in an agricultural area where fruits and vegetables are easily available so I started canning and preserving before gardening. I started watching gardening vids with Simple Living Alaska. Becky is one of the people I watched that inspired me to start my own garden and Jess from Roots and Refuge inspired me to grow things that the farmers in my area don’t grow. Kevin has inspired me by showing me I don’t need a large lot to grow my own food. ❤ all of you.

So glad to see you teaming up with Becky. Now Jess roots and Refuge. Nope I been canning since a kid 40+ years. I like Becky starting canning long before gardening. Although I live in areas with lots of pick your own farm's.

I love watching Becky's channel. I had always wanted to start pressure canning but was very afraid of it. I got the presto pressure canner because she used it and loved it. I love the canner too. It is perfect for an urban home cook who makes small batches when canning.
