Rob Kelvin was and still is a hero of mine. i watched in the early 80s when he read the unthinkable and i still tear up thinking about it today, some 40 years later. And i watched him and Kevin present for many years with conssumate professionalism. to this day i have nothing but admiration for them both, but particularly Rob- for his incredible bravery.
ketboard012 Yes. I remember one broadcast in the mid 1990s when you could see Rob getting worked up about a report that had something to do with the pig who murdered his teenage son and Kevin had to stop reading and he turned to Rob and said live on TV "Go and get yourself a drink mate. I'll finish this." In other words, get out of the studio if this upsets you too much. In recent years when a Crime Investigation Australia Documentary did a special On Von Einiem, they requested an interview or a statement from Rob Kelvin to include in the doco but he declined the request. In all honesty, cannot blame him. His son was only 15 when he was kidnapped, abused and tortured then murdered.
Can't believe it. I grew up in Elizabeth SA and thought I would have a look on the net to see how things were after the sixties when I left (A long time ago I know) First I see that Billy Thorpe is dead and now Kevin Crease. Exremely sad. I wonder what happened to a beautiful girl on TV at that time called Glenys O'Brien.
