I hardly watch any youtube videos anymore because of the ads and it would cost 13 Euros a month, not with me no thanks. Google earns money with my other data it's a fact so no money for youtube. Ok there are some creators who do it just for fun, are authentic, are not dependent on youtube for any kind of income. I wouldn't say anything if there is one add in the beginning and one add in the middle of an 30 Minutes video. But reality is an add every 2 to 5 Minutes. So more reading rime for me right?:-))
I think Patreon is a great plan. It's a fun place for extra content for super fans. You seem to be someone who likes a challenge, so hopefully you'll enjoy thinking of things to create and add. I joined!
Viewer update: Started my first Christie novel today, Poirot at Styles, after reading the first three Sherlock stories in my quest to find out who's the best British detective.(Holmes, Poirot, Marple) So far, Holmes starts strong, but the endings are a bit too drawn out and unsatisfying. From a cultural perspective, it is interesting how Irene Adler became such an iconic figure for Holmes, despite her one time appearance. I wonder why Doyle never gave her another appearance in the books or short stories.
Yes it baffles me why she is given so much importance, perhaps because she is a love interest. I'll be interested to hear which British detective you find the best.
@@NerdyKathi Having read the first Poirot novel, Styles, and although I felt the reveal was a bit mean on the author's part, as you couldn't really put it together, although you knew there were certain clues that Poirot deliberately kept to himself, it was a satisfying read and incredibly well thought out and constructed. I can't imagine how her desk must have looked like to keep track of all the connections and red herrings. On top of that, to his (and the author's) credit, Poirot isn't infallible like Sherlock, but still a bit arrogant and overconfident, but it fits the character and is written in a likeable manner in my opinion. So Poirot over Sherlock. Now Marple enters the ring (and several Poirot books on the wishlist haha)
