this project was going to be a complete failure until we were blessed with this absolute gigachad single-handingly saving it by just existing in this video, I will now subscribe and donate all my life savings towards this movement.
I just replaced an old cheep flat antenna with this Channel Master FLATenna 35/ without the amplifier. WOW, What a world or difference! My old one had a very thin cable. The Channel Master came with a good quality RG6 cable it has made a lot of difference! I'm picking up about 47 channels! Fortunately I live within about 30-35 miles from most of my local broadcast antennas with mainly flat terrain.
I use the amplified version of that Channelmaster antenna at the beach. The performance is amazing when those flat antennas usually fall short. I think the amplifier and the good coaxial cable is what makes the difference.
I just bought this from Channel Master website. Should arrive in sometime next week. I currently have a generic flat antenna mounted on the wall of a 2nd story room and I get most STL channels well except PBS which is a favorite for me. Im approx 30 to 35 miles from the broadcast towers. My home is high on a hill and its 2 stories with an attic. I'll update this when I get the CM 35 and try it out.
Love your video's Tyler. Is Amazon the only place to get one of these Channel Masters? I hate making Bezos richer, but I suppose you get a cut and that's OK. Also, they promote a coax extension cable by ChannelMaster when you add this item to the cart. Do you think that is necessary?
I appreciate the recommendations and tips in this video, but some key data points were missing in the review. First, it wasn't noted if the reception measurements were made with or without the amplifier installed. Second, the "last two" antennas tested are not clearly identified. I would be particularly interested to know how this Channel Master compares to the Winegard FL5500A. I do love these reviews, but a little more information would make them even more useful. Perhaps instead of simply comparing an antenna to "the last two" that were reviewed, a comparison to 'the last BEST two' would be more helpful.
Hello. I realize this video is a bit older. I just got this product for my mother. She connected everything and she said it was channel searching. She set it where it was facing the nearest towers. Once she set the adhesive and put it into the window something went wrong. Now when she goes to AV, it says “No Signal. Is It On ?” We could use some advice. Thank you.
Great question! There are many types of antennas. To find the best one for your home, take our easy antenna quiz at www.thefreetvproject.org/get-right-tv-antenna/
I believe you need to have television on the TV input for the channel section to be selected. It's that way with my television. If I'm using any other input, the TV/antenna is grayed out.
