You not doing the typical knifetuber thing is exactly why we like you. Nobody informed really cares when channel X pulls something out of a box, holds it for two minutes and calls it "THE BEST" (also everything is "a great EDC" , my personal favorite), but when a working boy like you is excited about a knife's performance after actually using it, that means something.

I got to give you props. As long as you have ethics, there’s nothing wrong with promoting brands and benefiting from it, but you and Jason may be the only knaf tubers who are doing everything in their power to not “ sell out”

Really appreciate the general theme of your channel. I know it sounds cliche but you're one of the few channels I go to for honest reviews and tests of knives or even just showcasing them without the pressure of the heavily sponsored guys. Reminds me of the days before all the trendy "budget" companies were sending review knives to everybody at an exhausting rate. Been finding out just how useful a quality strop is in the past couple months so I'm looking forward to eventually grabbing one made by you. Wishing you nothing but the best.

Same. I had 27 Spydercos when the year started, now i have less than 10 knives and more into CRK, Koenig, McNees, Zack Perlow, SDK, Sparrow Knives, Brown Knives. My next knife is gonna be a full size Arius style 57, I already have a few other ones. I still love my Jcape, Padre, and Voodoo though.

I took the turn quite a few years back to start only supporting knife brands that I really enjoy and connect with, Spyderco being the main production company but also lots of small batch makers when it comes to high end titanium stuff. It sounds cheesy but I really started to feel like the mass produced overseas made knives didn’t have any soul to them regardless of who was behind it. Where for example something like TRM which you also mentioned gives me joy and I like knowing I’m supporting the Halperns, plus I can literally get ahold of Marianne and the team if I have an issue. I still even pick up the random Benchmade (at the right price) here and there because they’ve been exceptional in customer service over the years and have stuck with being US only production. It’s so over saturated right now and a lot of these kinda “pop up” brands aren’t going to be around long term. Anyways I really like the direction you’ve taken and I’m right there behind you!

I understand what you are saying about budget knives. Once you get used to premium knives it's hard to go back to budget. I'm not sure where my name is on your strop list but I guess if I'm not in this batch I can get it from Austin hopefully for not to much more in price. Congrats on the business deal with Austin. It does make sense.

The way over saturation of the g-10 liner locks and especially button locks/bar locks are insane. They are all the same and so many reviewers will say everyone is awesome. Once you’ve had a button lock or axis lock/bar lock it’s all the same. More is less in this situation

Good stuff Dood. Congratulations on the deal with TPK. I’ve only bought one new knife and a set of scales in the last few months cuz I’m so over budget knives. It was the compadre and some awt raw stonewashed scales for my manix lw. I just cant bring myself to spend too much with a baby and a five year old that eats like a teenager. Those awt scales though are sexy af. The stonewash looks amazing and they fit like a glove. Anyway hope the videos keep coming.

I couldn’t agree with you more, most of the Chinese made companies are releasing so many knives each month that are completely boring. Impossible to keep up with. And honestly given the time we live in I mostly want to support American made knife makers. 🇺🇸

I don't care where a knife is made or who is making the knife. I will keep watching your content because I like what you do. I wish I had a deeper pocket so I could afford the higher end knives, and unfortunately, those are, or tend to be, American made. The parts of my collection that are American made is about a third. I always try to buy 🇺🇸 made when possible but man the price difference sometimes is what gets me and prob most ppl. I love,work buy small town so that’s what I look for that way if the price is lil more at least I’m supporting my community and that’s pretty much with anything else not just Knifes

I like your channel more than many others. I am with you that CJRB, CIVVIVI, WE etc... knives are all kind of starting to look and feel the same. I got a QSP penguin as a "free" blade from a webstore promotion when buying a new piece. I don't like it all. Will likely gift it to my dad.

Once we get to a certain point in this knife game the budget knives do become pretty obsolete. When you have Spydercos, CRKs, and other high end knives like your Brown knives, Oz Machining, SPKs etc etc. when would the time arise to even carry a budget knife? All the budget knives I have I wish I could sell and I’ll probably just end up having to bundle up for a ridiculously cheap price because the market for em is trash. I feel like budget knives are the last thing a knife enthusiast should be after. I’m definitely not buying as much as I used to as well. Gotta really have my interest peaked. I used to have like 4 different knives coming to me at a time. It was becoming a real problem. Now I have been able to sit a few things out. All I’m really interested in is the high end American made.

The only Chinese knifes in my folder collection is Kunwu. I don’t care for Civivi or WE knives etc. Don’t say it cause the comment section gives me crap. Also on the secondary market there not worth much. But that’s my opinion.
