His look is pretty spot on with Gambit in the comics. I’m glad that his cameo was not just a cameo, he and others played a short but big role in moving the movies narrative forward.
@@ericlogan9905 they may find a role for him. But I doubt it’d be Gambit. When they present the new X-Men I believe they’ll start with a younger cast. I would be gladly mistaken though.
@@anthonygarcia3922You are absolutely wrong. From someone who watched the cartoon read the comics and played Marvel vs Capcom, X-Men vs street fighter, Marvel super heroes vs Street fighter , mvc2. That fucking costume was fucking amazing and damn near spot on. Did you get into marvel from MCU ?
Channing Tatum is good for Gambit because he loves Gambit. When you love a character, you will bring out the best in that character. That is why he is sooo good in the movie.
Except for the eyes, that is the only part that really bugged me. He was literally abandoned by his parents and called diabolo blanc because his eyes make him look devil like. They need to fix that if he is brought back again.
I loved Channing Tatum as gambit he did absolutely amazing as him!!! Honestly I’d love if he played the character in a solo film and would love to have him play that character 🥹
He’s not. He looks bloated. His fight scenes were weak and pointless. Unnecessary flips on the ground to place cards looks stupid. Gambit is slim and agile. Maybe someone like Andre Garfield would’ve been better.
@@iub_tthat’s how gambit is though he does things that ar unnecessary because he likes to showboat. He’s also got a heart of gold too though. Channing had the moves and brought the voice he’s got the gambit down. He might be a bit to old though though I think gambit in the comics is pretty old too
Why would you even think he was not a good choice? Did you have someone better in mind? There has been fan art of Channing Tatum as gambit years ago when the rumors began of him playing the role and he always looked like a great gambit to me
Channing looked to have fun playing the part. Good to see that his dream playing the character came about. Even if the southern French dialect didn't come over too well, it was still fun to see DP have fun with it. Channing did look like Gambit at least in live action from the comics.
Channing is not the typical slim Gambit. Even muscular he looks more like US Agent or captain America body type. However, he's a fan of the material. Respect for the source material comes first imo. Too many of these people sign up for a paycheck and actually hate the source.
So happy Tatum got to finally play the dream role and Ryan Reynolds is a damn good guy for getting that to happen, plus the gambit costume was perfect 👌🏻plus he absolutely killed it....... we Just need a Tatum gambit movie I think as fans if we make enough noise it can finally happen..
I loved the Gambit look. it was a very classic comic style. I hope Channing Tatum comes out in more Movies with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as Gambit.
@@marxvargas7697 Eh not really I grew up watching the 90s X-Men cartoon , The hair looks fine , Plus not everything has to be accurate to the comics like wolverines real height for example.
I thought Channing nailed it pretty well. You could tell he's having a blast when he's on screen. The most just pure FUN I've had watching a movie in a long time.
I honestly wish I could tell Tatum how much I enjoyed his performance as da Gambit! I was waiting a long time to see a Gambit in live action and he gave it! My favorite X-MEN also as a kid, was sceptical as to how he would play but definitely not disappointed! Look forward to seeing more!
When he was announced as gambit long time ago i wasnt up for it and i was wrong!! Channing kicked ass in deadpool and wolverine!! Hopefully we will see him more as gambit!! Thanks ryan, hugh, shawn, dafne, jennifer, wesley, Chris, and channing!!
I've always wanted Channing to play Gambit, he seems to be an epitome of the character but when I saw him in live action, I think he is a little bit thicker than he was before or something, don't get me wrong I was overjoyed like everybody else but it looks kinda funny, mostly being comparative to the cartoon, where Gambit is a lot slimmer and of course he was a bit of a joke to start off with which I believe is the intent that made it funny because of the way he spoke.
a X-MEN spinoff based on Gambit with Channing Tatum would be fucking BADASS they was trying to do a X-MEN spinoff based on Gambit with Tatum a few years ago I don't know what happened but after seeing Tatum as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine a X-MEN spinoff based on Gambit with Channing Tatum would be fucking BADASS. 20th Century Studios/Marvel/Kevin Feige/Hulu should make it happen.
Taylor Kitsch's portrayal of Gambit left much to be desired. I was happy to see .y boy Gambit in that movie, but something seemed....off.... but WHOOOOOO!!! Gambit in the Deadpool movie?? I cheered when I saw him....and was struck in awe when he delivered that Cajun accent! OUT-FUCCN-STANDING!!
Channing Tatum is very versatile obviously, so it was no surprise he took on the role so well. He could have played Cyclops, Beast or several others, and like this one, made it look almost effortless while pulling it off. You rock Tatum.
Gambit Cameo was amazing, I need a Channing Tatum Gambit movie now. However, seeing Wesley Snipes as Blade the OG Marvel Jesus 😂in his own Blade movie, He did start the Marvel superhero craze before X-Men and Iron Man. My jaw hit the floor. I really want to see Wesley Snipes play Blade again in his own movie, beating vampires that secretly run the world. ❤❤❤. Have him be a variant. Or have the new Blade actor be of the variant. But for me, Wesley Snipes is my blade. ❤❤❤
L:love the look. This is where Hollywood makes the most mistakes especially with Comics characters. Know where and more importantly where not to take creative liberties. The accent and outfit are what makes Remy, Gambit. Hell his relationship with Wolverine.... I'm surprised they were kept off screen like this together for so long. Also big shout out to Wesley Snipes BLADE making his return. Seeing as how those movies saved Marvel so we could have an MCU... Kinda Huge Deal. RESPECT
People saying his accent was bad when its his actual accent kind of irritate me. It was over the top cause the movie is over the top. Pretty much everything in the movie is pumped up to eleven. Logan is more Logan, X-23 is wilder than in... well... Logan, Blade is more Blade-ish, Gambits accent is stronger and so on. Only Deeadpool is at his usual and his usual is off the ceiling.
Like Olivia Munn's Psylocke, Gambit's look was comic/cartoon accurate and they both played their respective parts with ease. Would love to have Olivia Munn return as Psylocke as well down the road.
I haven't seen the movie yet but see clips of spoilers and I think he nailed Gambit. Come on Disney. Give us old school fans what we want and finally give him his own movie.
IMO, Channing is too muscled for Gambit at the time of filming. Gambit's supposed to be slim and flexible. Plus Tatum also looked young&clean shaven when Gambit's supposed to look scruffy¬ buffed up.
Agreed. I think the face bits also don't really help, they actually make his face look flatter/wider. I think a better design for that might make his face look thinner/gaunt like it should be. His eyes are also regular (instead of black/red) and something I noticed when comparing to the comic version is that Channing's eyebrows aren't dark enough and they aren't really angled. I think if they could make some subtle changes to his eyebrows without looking fake, that could really help with the look. The other thing is that his neck piece is actually think rubber in the film, which makes it so he can't really move and looks overly stiff. They should just replace this with CG if they make a Gambit movie. No reason not to. It's such a simple thing to replace without looking fake. I'd like to see Channing get a shot at Gambit though, he's clearly really passionate about it. I kinda hope he takes the same path that Ryan did and is more involved in the creative side to ensure that it's done right, as opposed to just joining as Gambit and crossing his fingers that he's represented well.
@@RealEllenDeGeneres Agreed, didn't want to complain too much since it's a bit too late about doing anymore post production edits even for the bluray release if there's any. If the movie studios can make Henry Cavill look bad as Superman in Justice League, they can make Channing's face look different and less pretty to be more comic accurate depiction of Gambit's face.
@@RealEllenDeGeneres Agreed, they needed the eyes and the sharpness of his face sock made his face look wider. His costume also did not get the same "modernizing" that Wolverine got. Looks like they took it straight out of the comics and made one giant front plate that he wears. As opposed to a more sophisticated flexible pleather look like Wolverine got to wear. Gambit's armor looked hard and shiny.
He looked like the Stereotypical comic book version of Gambit and he owned it, even it it was a bit over the top. But he had a friend help him realize his dream and together they pulled it off.
