How come I like the Renewed Ancient Text as you chanted it very much, but couldn't stand when the Roman Catholic Novus Ordo Mass introduced what this is based upon when I was 9 years old in 1969? Even as a kid, I could not stand that, right after the consecration, we all had to say something. It seemed so irreverent. In adult life, I learned that Vatican II liturgists used a device similar to what was used by the Mozarabic liturgy in Muslim Spain. I never got used to this change. Yet, as you chanted the consecration, it was beautiful and reverent. Had the New Mass been celebrated this way when it was introduced when I was a child,the new litugy would have been more effective. Of course, there was also the ICEL English translation that was a problem as well. There is a new ACNA Parish meeting a mile from my home. My particular small Lutheran denomination does not have a parish near me. It has an Episopal Church Government, so we are under a Bishop. My only problem with Confessional Lutheran Church Polity is that those who have a Zwinglian or Calvinist or Cranmerian view of the Eucharist who are conservative and evangelical cannot take communion. I certainly have Martin Luther's view of the sacraments, but probably a more Melancthonian view of Christian Fellowship. Since I use the Cranmerian Daily Prayer cycle, and either the Coverdale or New Coverdale Psalter anyway along with the KJV or ESV, and regularly go through the Book of Common Prayer, if an ACNA parish would have me, I would certainly have them.
