IKR? I saw a photo of them recently and couldn't believe how much Ally has just not seemed to age at all! Been watching old episodes of Neighbours and as soon as Zoey's episodes started I was like OMG the Chantoozies. Oh how I loved growing up in Australia in the 80s. Beautiful woman and voice
I remember listening to this on my way to work as a junior at the State Bank Victoria! The Pioneer tape player being cranked up full blast in my Ford Cortina Ghia with the graphic equaliser lights flashing!!!!
I was 10 when this came out and of course I didn't pay much attention to this?! But at now 45 after 35 years later, this has a very unique sound that is kinda dreamy and mellow but the lyrics can tell otherwise here. There is nothing that quite sounds like and I to say that it really grows on you too. Way ahead and maybe too advanced for it's time sound wise but it has made it stand the test of time as well. Aussies were really in their zen regarding music in the 1980's both male/females. Bravo!
The first time I heard this was when I was watching neighbours in 1988 and Henry was competing in high jump haha. How do I still remember that. Tottie still lives in st kilda and is just as lovely as you could find a human. I miss the 80s.
There was an episode of Home and Away from the mid 90s where Alisa was having a breakdown and the ghost of Bobby came out of the fridge. She was listening to this song on the radio in that scene
@@nzfalcon8698 i agree,one of my girlfriends remembers the eighties music well.funny part is she was born first week january 78,i was born in the final weeks of december 77.it's an era of music we grew up on.i rebelled against my mother listening to things like this while she preferred us listening to classical music.
you can't beat it.this is the kind of music we should be using in dance classes( I belong to a dance class for people with down syndrome many of which except for a handful of us who were not alive when this kind of music existed)
This is actually pretty adult songwriting for a teen pop song. Slight slide guitar and a subtle country feel in the chorus. If Melissa Etheridge or Heart did this song, people would probably respect it lol Maybe not the lyric: You think that he's real cool. I know he's a real mean dude
He was dating the beautiful Angie La Bozzetta at the time. The brunette and him were an item and Eva was with Tottie Goldsmith's brother who was also in the band (wearing the specs and playing guitar). Tottie and David had gone out together quite a few years earlier.
