The UK already has a law allowing prison for up to a year which was introduced quite recently. It is simply not enforced and the penalties therefore mean nothing.

sounds great, in theory. in reality, you'll end up with pregnant women giving birth behind bars when their car breaks down. especially in a country with no 2nd amendment.

I have one issue with this. If one day we want to protest about something, I mean something big, like vaccine mandates, reducing our freedom etc, and we want to bring attention to the problem by not blocking no roads, lets say walking on roads, they can easily claim it to be exactly that, and we will be puniahable, people!

Zip ties are stupid EASY to break, just a flick of the wrist. Finding ones that are strong enough - heavy duty 24" long 1/2" wide wire reinforced ties - are difficult to find and quite a bit more expensive. They'll definitely do the job, though.

There are already laws about obstructing traffic. The police just won't enforce the laws for fear of backlash. The police have been dealing with excessive force issues so they don't want to be seen dealing with unarmed passive people. Look at some of the people telling off the drivers and filming them.

The laws exist but the UK has police forces that want to be likable social workers rather than law enforcing.

It has almost happened. There was a video a month or so ago, where a driver inched into one them and went a little too far. Another inch and the "protester"would have been regretting her actions for the rest of her life.

Saw that happen on a video here in the UK. A builder got out of the passenger side of a van and threw the protester onto the pavement. The police jumped on the builder and had his arm up his back. Police were letting the protesters get on with it. Funny how all these protesters are wearing something where oil is used in the manufacturing process.

Seems to me I saw one driver angrily kicking one of them, who just continued to sit there. I heard the driver got an 18-month sentence for assault. Can't recall what country it was in-- it could have been anywhere except Texas.

How about a sticker in your car window or ribbon on your antenna and a special hat or something that indicates you are willing to hold the 'protestors' back for the car ahead of you and the next stickered car/participating driver behind you holds them back for you to pass, and so on. Would take a certain amount of people to do it to be effective, but it might would catch on popularly enough to work somewhat, sometimes at least. Would be funny footage if it did. * This could be a thing people do when they are driving and not necessarily in a huge hurry, and skip it when too rushed. You needn't commit to participation during all driving, but when you are able, advertise your willingness. I don't know, maybe I haven't thought this all the way through, but it seems like a little more cooperation/organisation could only help.

Another idea is a participant's database that alerts people signed up when one of these 'protests' is happening in their area so that, if free to do so, they could use their civilian time aiding motorists with places to be, like the officers of the law are failing to do. Again, it would take a certain amount of people doing it to be really effective, but even three or four big guys dedicated to holding a few lanes clear for rush hour on a busy city street could make a huge difference to busy drivers. Surely there are those out there who would be glad to do this now and then.
