They're all but guaranteed to be in warhammer 3, basically down to them or Ogres for the pre-order bonus. In other words, 50/50 shot at seeing them this year👍.
@Al Martin What was this in, one of the broken realms books? I'm holding out hope for a release in AoS, but feel like GW are just messing with us at this point.
Surprised nobody asked how the Chaos Dwarfs Economy works. The Chaos Dwarfs Economy is the main reason the Chaos Worshipper Hordes in the North are able to get access to exotic goods and most importantly Chaos Plate, which is by far the most valuable item in the Steppes of Chaos and Norsca. An armor made by a Chaos Dwarf Deamonsmith is the most prized heirloom of a Kurgan Khan or a Norscan Warlord.
Maybe it could work like the Underway/WorldRoots/BeastPaths but in order to enter the stance you'd need to be next to a settlement. As counter-balance it could get you farther then normal Underway stance.
Unreliable and always looking to stab you in the back. Not too mention. Skaven are notoriously difficult to keep captive. If a couole slaves escaped and told Giant Skaven hive that there are some evil Dawi that have ALOT of gold, metals and weapons. The last thing the Chaos Dawi would want is a Skaven underhive to deal with until forever
Chaos Dwarf economy sounds like super corporatism where every sorcerer lord is basically a CEO of his own company, in which he basically controls EVERYTHING.
It's kinda hilarious how the Dawi Zharr grab the worst aspects of Capitalism and the worst aspects of Communism, then mix and mash them together to make their economy and society run.
Off topic, but do you think Throt the Unclean’s mutations/instability mechanic could eventually translate into a chaos mutations mechanic for Warriors of Chaos/Norsca? Instead of becoming unstable, an overly-mutated unit could transform into forsaken or chaos spawn. Also, loving this series! Very excited to see Chaos Dwarfs in the game, but I’m a bit anxious that they won’t get the proper treatment if they’re chosen for the pre-order bonus…
Man I have soooo many questions on the Dawi Zharr especially in the current setting (AoS) so thank you very much for doing these. All i know is the old world lore and they they are currently in the realm of Aqshy in the Ashcloud Mountains. 1. What has changed from the old world to the new? 2. Who/Where/What is Azgorh? (as in the Legion of Azgroh) 3. If there are survivors from the old world how did they survive? 4. Is Hashut still a thing? 5. What are Forge citadels? 6. What is the current state of the Legion, Forge citadels, Diplomacy, major events, military, leaders, who are they battling? 7. Are they a legal army in AoS 3.0?
What would a all-out war between the Chaos Dwarves and the normal dwarves be like, and in your opinion who would win, given the alliances that the dwarves have with various nations?
It sounds like the answer to how the Dawi Zharr economy works is that is a patronage system. You have a Sorcerer Prophet patron that provides, and in in return you work for them.
Gotta say having literally thousands of dollars pissed down the drain in one of the most dissatisfying conclusions to the end of any fictional universe over GW's copyright tantrum was pretty fucking brutal. At the very least if the end times was good it would've at least softened the financial blow, but dear god was it bad
@Al Martin I have lizardmen, dwarfs, Tomb kings and was halfway through a chaos one at the time AOS does have better rules but they could've just overhauled the game instead of blowing up the planet lol
@Al Martin they nuked it all so they could remake everything with names they can actually copyright, so there's a high likelihood of most things coming back with a silly pig latin name and double the price
That summer was brutal. I believe it was 2015. Disney also invalidated all the expanded universe for Star Wars for their horrible SJW crap. GW betrayed every WHFB with the End Times. I like Age of Sigmar but its lore is a sippy cup compared to the ocean of WHFB. I refuse to acknowledge the End Times. It never happened to me. I'm glad GW is bringing back the Old World even if it is set in the past.
Do all warhammer fantasy factions in general have the "every culture without civil wars is completely monolithic where everyone agrees on one thing"? :p Like my impression from chaos dwarf lore is that there isn't really much nuance to them besides "they are as horribly evil as every other chaos faction"
Not necessarily. Take Ulthuan for example, where each of the kingdoms has a very distinct culture from one another. Same for Greenskin tribes (Take the vast differences between Hill Goblins, Forest Goblins, and Night Goblins for instance.) Each Imperial province has a fairly distinct culture, along with the Chaos Tribes (Norscan vs Hung vs Kurgan,) the Skaven Great Clans. The Chaos Dwarves are notably homogenous because there are just so few of them. Easily the smallest faction in terms of numbers, and they're mostly clustered around the city of Zharr Naggrund.
Isn't much nuance? They used to be incorruptable dwarves who had to make a deal with a dark bull god from being wiped out by chaos. So they are not the same, they are grudgingly evil. Vs tolkiens hobbits are small people who eat alot and live in holes in the ground.
Tamurkhan: Throne of Chaos is such a beautiful book. Probably the best one ever published for Warhammer Fantasy. It's such a shame Forge World never got to publish the other three. Word on the street is that the Slaaneshi models were already done and some pictures of them leaked in the fallout of the End Times.
Add to that monstrous arcanum 2 and the 3rd battle for black fire pass book. I hope the return of the old world is a success and forge world goes back to these books somehow.
Have I missed the discussion of what Hashut actually is? I believe he is the Dwarfen god of greed, tyranny and hate. The only real faults of normal Dwarfs would be their greed and hate and inability to forgive. I believe Hashut is that made manifest in the warp and that is what the CD are in fact worshipping.
Could you please talk about notible characters from fantasy, endtimes and age of sigmar please if it wouldn't kill you please thees devilish dwarfs are my absolute favorite realy i beg you do me a favor even if its just one or two characters please
I don’t really like the chaos dwarves, mostly because I don’t understand how they turned to chaos, I thought the dwarves were created by the old ones to be incorruptible, hence the stubbornness and unwillingness to change, how did these turn to chaos?
@@hades_deathgod9496 ah ok I think they where broken and where willing to do anything to survive so yes them being created by the old ones made them almost in corruptible they where willing to sell there souls
No, but they would definitely exist. Thing is, though, you could honestly count the amount of cis couples we've seen in Warhammer Fantasy on one hand. They would probably be the most common amongst the elves, given their very liberal views on sexuality - Tyrion's considered a prude 'cause he's only got eyes for Alarielle.
@Berserking Bishop Dwarf society isn't based on Anglo-Saxon or Old Norse. It has some inspirations, a lot of whom are borrowed from Tolkien's dwarfs. Even then, not very accurate. Being gay wasn't ridiculed or shunned; society back then didn't have a concept of 'gay' or queerness. If you allowed yourself to be fucked by another man, that made you feminine. It made you a woman, so to say, as you partook in the role of women in the bedroom. But if you were a man taking another man, that was perfectly fine. You were just being the manliest man you could be by dominating another man. As is really best exemplified in how the closest term in Old Norse we have to 'gay' translates as unmanly. There is even the Gudmundar Saga which tells the story of a "disloyal priest" and his mistress, both of whom were gang-raped as a punishment. There is also Gudmundr whom is said of that the Einherjar fight to win his love and another man, Sinfjotli, proudly boasts of having impregnated Gudmundr with nine children. Who were also wolf cubs.
@Berserking Bishop Based / inspired by = / = the same. They are dwarfs, not Norse or Anglo-Saxon. You kinda said it yourself, there. Being gay wasn't shunned in neither Anglo-Saxon nor Norse society. They didn't have a concept of homosexuality. Their worst insult levied at a man was to question their manhood. Because that's what was at stake for a man being taken by another man. They weren't shunned for being gay, they were shunned for performing the role of women. That they were weak and feminine. There's absolutely zero reason for this to be the case in dwarfen society, be they Chaos Dwarfs or regular dwarfs.
I’d imagine in chaos dwarf society, same sex relations would be frowned on as there such a small pop, they probably view sex as a important act of reproduction. Since same sex doesn’t further that goal I’d imagine it’s a no go. I’m sure the dark elves might like a bit of same sex action though 😂😂 and of course shelanesh cultists.
