not to mention that the chaos dwarfs are the only race that actually reloads their guns as opposed to other races who take a shot and then... take a break mid battle before shooting again
Those little hand motions for the spotter of the Deathshriek are sooo good. The little shake of his hand as he makes a fist, the change in motions as they approach the correct alignment
It really is very small but amazing details like that I enjoy. As well as how the reload mechanic for the deathshriek has it actually come from a magazine and up onto the launcher from under the platform.
only thing i dont like is the taurus on the ground, it gets really derpy when it tries to target a single target, it jumps around and then has difficulties facing the target again, getting stuck in a never ending spin.
It’s because dwarves are naturally resistant to magic, so they hardly mutate at all and also keep their wits despite their worshipping of a Chaos god. The most that usually happens is they grow little tusks or horns
Dwarves are naturally resilient to choas corruption, so yeah they would be fare less insane than human and elves. Though in the larger lore they have so e prety wild shits running their streets, but yeah don’t expect a short chaos spawn.
Physically they're very resilient, even to chaos mutations. They are obviously just as psychologically vulnerable to the temptations of the Ruinous Powers just as every race.
PSA: Use the “reloading” mod if you want all of the races to have rifle reloading animations, it’s not nearly as fleshed out as the chaos dwarf animations but at least it’s something!
@@Lorgar64 oh nooo its not like CA never went and updated an older faction for free or zip-tied the huge update to a DLC which you dont have to buy to receive an update… Say whatever you want about CA but they doing great job updating the game.
@@TheBarser CA have admitted that a lot of the really neat animations i.e large vs large animations are actually done as passion projects by their staff. I hope they go back and holistically improve all the animations for the games, the community will love them for it.
This is easily one of the most impressive set of reloads I have seen in an RTS. Most games do not have very high quality reloads but this one is on par with Company of Heroes in it's detail and dedication to the animation.
My hope is that as we draw closer to the final DLC's of game 3 and therefore TWWH3 as a whole, CA will start releasing mini updates to build hype for the final DLCs by updating the old empire and dwarven artillery animations and other such things
What we expected animations for artillery to look like: What we got: artillery crews building a sand castle to reload their cannons, then clapping for emotional support (the cannon is really shy, it needs encouragement to shoot the target).
Patience, lads. I knew when the first game this is gonna take a while to get really good because the task of a game doing Warhammer justice on THIS scale is a monumental undertaking.
As others have said, there's an awesome mod (by Guv I think) that adds flavorful reload animations to all gunpowder units. We just need this detail with other artillery as well.
Something about the chaos dwarf covering his ears before the cannon fires is so funny to me. Of all the things to worry about in the warhammer world, tinnitus seems pretty low on the list.
I really love the ogre reloading the main gun it's a shame they haven't made a more lengthy train version of the units. And that the mortar varriants are super buggy when firing, in addition to wierd confused unit pricing on the iron deamon vs the skullcracker, where the basic unit is more expencive than the more advanced one I hope CA fixes these pricing and main gun bugs
Inb4 all the commenters who watched the tarriff video thinking they are clever by mentioning the scope being blocked. *nvm, no original thoughts to be found here
@@EveloGrave bro, ogres are so old of a species that the old ones found them there, but unlike the ones they created later on, the ogres never achieved a proper, functional, society. While their younger, much weaker, cousins of the same earth each has seized advancements, with nuances to each-other in culture, technology, architecture, spirituality and philosophy. For the thousands of years that ogres have been, not one has cogitated or meditated nature or improved his home beyond a cave or log house
Now if only they could put the most minute effort into reload animations for Kislev and the Empire. It’s not like they haven’t made gunpowder reload animations at least four times prior to this
Ah yes, more effort went into the animations than the starting positions... Actually nah Chaos Dwarfs the one race DLC that actually makes things easier for their neighboring lords as opposed to what happened when you got greenskins and Skaven DLCs in WH2 where they were just unstoppable snowballs when you weren't playing them and gave less reasons to play Karl with every new menace you dropped by him
Honestly CA just really keeps letting me down, they can clearly put reload animations in but instead choose to not cause tw warhammer has proven they can butcher the TW formula and people will buy it in droves
Its not like they adding a whole race that had 1.5 models before that in potato quality and 10 pages of lore in total and half of those were about some stinky Nurgle guy going to the Empire… no no, just the few machines. And not to mention them constantly updating and improving whole game which actually 3 games in one when you think of it.
Dunno, i love the design and the crew motion, but i genuinely think they flopped over the "concept". In lore, all of these machines are cursed as all hell, unholy combinations of metal, steam and magic, usually possessed by demons, trapped by runes written in blood. This is perfectly shown in the Hellcannon, twisted and twitching, acting possessed and barely under control, but every machine of the chaos dwarfs is kind of like that, and that's not very shown, unfortunately. Hell, the Demon engine is a DEMON ENGINE, yet it's calmer than a steam tank.
Is it just me or is most of their artilery like....not that good. I did exeriments with Peasents. The Rocket (the one that goes straight up) doesnt do that much over all damage with either ammo. the Iron Daemon has pitiful range and does medium damage, a Organ gun does more honestly. The Dreadquake mortar slowly goes foreward for no reason and you cant stop it, if they removed that it would be top tier yes, but the sheer damage it can do to your front lines is bad. Magma cannons were the best of the Artilery honestly.
Deathshrieker gets waaaaaay better with campaign buffs. It does less direct damage for the trade off of a vertical attack (don’t need line of sight) and ok damage against SEMs. Iron daemon is for melee, although I would agree it’s not that good. Dread quakes are cracked. Put it on guard mode and it will only roll forward a few feet initially. And yeah magma cannons are pretty good. Kinda boring tho
@@AnimeRyker2001 Deathshrieker Rockets are not meant to shoot at infantry. It's the secondary mode that you should use when you don't have a proper target. They are meant to kill large targets with their primary firemode, which is EXTREMELY accurate and can wear down any big single entity during longer battles. It can shoot at the enemy artillery too.
No animations for any artillery until now... And you expect us to be thankful? I love total war but man they just be slacking and it keeps getting worse
Old total wars had only human models to work with and essentially identical (but differently sized) cannons and etc, of course they could allow to really polish those 2 sets of animations.
I play these games to watch massive armies decimate each other for my amusement. I zoom in all the time. I can't play multiplayer though, my internet is too slow.
