That Word Bearer knows how to live. Casual murder, torture, hedonism, scheming, AND a good night's sleep?! So... a mysterious vault of forbidden tech is in the coils of the Alpha Legion, who have lied to a representative of Chaos about their plans, while the Word Bearer goes off to do something equally mysterious... all while we wait in anticipation for the beginning of the conflict at Abundance and in deadly suspense of how Oculus fits into things. You have spun quite an interesting yarn, Storyteller.

They are consulted when crisis afflicts their chapter, when enemies of old appear, when agoal may seem untenable, even to the might of the astartes. Hellbrutes are slaves. Tormented demented creatures, that hate what they are. pitiful remnants of the old selves they may be, but apart form chaos spawn i know of no more powerful demonstration of the "care", the chaos monsters offer their slaves. To look upon a hellbrute, is to look upon their true plans for humanity. Look upon the face of horror and know them for all time. The Emperor demands everything in his service, but not for himself. For the survival of humanity. His agents are brutal pitiless monsters, yes, but what else has a chance of withstanding the wrath of chaos? For chaos would have everyone destroy what they have built, on a whim. They would make animals of humanity as they did before. And after death..the true torture would begin. Torments of the soul unto eternity. It is not only for our lives and those of the future generations we fight, it is for our after life most of all. For death comes to all flesh in the end and we are left naked against the spite of the warp -- a play thing for beings so demented , so perverted , daemon is the only fit name. Hhhmm I can imagine how both a dreadnought and hellbrute can be bad in thier own way. However, how I see it, dreadnoughts are treat alot better in the imperium then hellbrute. Hellbrute are tormented hourly with no rest nor ease, only raw pain and torment. Dreadnoughts are given rest and sleep, and are deemed as valued enough for an entire chapter to save them if need be. Hellbrutes are discarded when they are no longer of use.

For all the horror and terror a chaos marine and hellbrutes are able to inspire, the thought of Alpha Legion getting their hands on dark age weaponry seems more sinister.

There’s a saying that when an evil man hates you, it’s bad enough. He hates you, he kills you, he never thinks about you again. When an evil man LOVES you? That is when you’re in REAL trouble. Baldemort has a knack for getting into the dark headspace of these cruel, demon warped hedonists who don’t suffer from insanity, they enjoy every second of it. Chilling work.

I really don’t like hellbrutes. it’s not the rules they’re ok and the model itself is alright I just don’t like the aesthetics of it. I much prefer to run my Night Lords with Contemptors and Leviathans and use the old boxnaught dread to count as a hellbrute. It’s not even from a “purity” point of view as my company has broken down and accepted the use of daemon engines as a necessary evil and we even use possessed, I should note however my possessed are captured loyalists our sorcerers have shoved daemons inside but still.

There is No doubt that the Hell Brutes are a formidable foe against the forces of the Imperium, but we are the Emperor fury and his righteous flame against the Darkness of the Great Rift.

Absolutely loved this video. I love the concept of chaos-corrupted cyber-technology. Helbrutes, heldrakes, warpsmiths, daemonengines, etc. All beautifully evil. [Encrypted self-classification addendum: Tech-adept JackCF is now Heretek JackCF.] The story of the brother being tormented in such a way that he never gets used to it... The mention of a couple spending their final suffocating hours in horror and despair... All to add to this Word Bearer's indulgence. So emotionally evocative. It's moving. So fitting for the setting. Kinda hoping this Word Bearer guy gets what he wants out of abundance tertius, yet I'd still find it satisfying if he suffers a true defeat.

One question, are Helbrutes tools of one ruinous power or do all the armories of every power have their own favor of dreadnought abomination?

I feel like the Imperium and their methods are absolutely required in this universe. Their atrocities are the only response to the unbound forces that they are up against. You cannot win a war against something without limits unless abandoning limits yourself. We like to think, in the real world, that there are ways to win without dipping a toe into the dark, thick waters of the Abyss. That our nations, or countries, or militaries, or law enforcement can maintain the heroic image of violence restrained to the absolute minimum necessary. We want the men of Gondor to allow freedom and debate, even though we know the forces of Mordor aren't above torturing Gondorians and using them against the cities of men. The harsh truth, is that the noble and good must be capable of evil beyond that of their opponent if survival is at stake. There is no referee and it isn't a game, so the only rule, the only objective, the only reason in a world gone mad, is protecting what you have at all costs. If you are going to hell, do it knowing that you will be remembered, because you damnation paid for those who follow after.

I have been listening to Warhammer 40K channels now 6 years. Arch War Hammer, One mind syndicate, Wolf Lord Roe, Luptin......you Faithful Servent are by far the best. Anyone can take the time to research a subject and put a little bit of a spin on it and regurgitate information that's out there. You sir craft a narrative around the subject that adds to the greater glory of the universe we love so much. The emperor protects.
