Would you show on a video how you finish your copper jewelry with Renaissance Wax? How much to add, what cloth, and how to remove any excess in the tight areas. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. This moon tutorial is wonderful. I can't wait to make it.

Rachel: I suggest working with 16 or 18 ga for the frame, and after shaping the moon, either hammer it to flatten, or use a rubber or rawhide mallet, to work harden the wire. I have used a combination of 20 & 22 gauge successfully.
@Wireguild
@Wireguild 5 лет назад
That is the great thing about wire wrapping you can use whatever gauge wire you feel most comfortable with and if you like a finer result you can do that. Personally I like using the 14g for a frame as I like the rounded profile without planish marks and have found from many years teaching that if the frame is very strong students (particularly beginners) can really pull with the curls over the top without distorting the shape. But as with all wire wrapping there are no rights and wrongs only new designs and that is why I love it so much

Thank you so much for your videos. After watching you, I feel like I can work with wire. You have totally identified the process. I am intrigued by your earring hooks. When you patina the earring wire, do you put the wax on that part too?
@Wireguild

If they were silver no if they are copper I usually paint with clear nail varnish, this protects the ears from the copper

@@Wireguild Oh great thanks! Also, I was gifted a bag of wire from an artisan friend. I know there are Copper and Plated silver. The other silver coil looks like it is either "aged" or tarnished. Could it be sterling?
