CHAOS on Australia's OLD TELEGRAPH TRACK! Floating across Nolans Brook! We did it SOLO! Cape York

Good to see you observe the rules for successful Nolan's crossing. Low tyres, slow pace, tow strap and tow vehicle attached. Also left plenty of time for bottom to settle since previous vehicle.

I personally rate that one as one of your best yet Tyler! Certainly shows your years of 4x4 experience, and the scenery was epic!

Saw you on the track -followed you while on the northern Telly. Great filming! I'm even in a few seconds of video. The Pajero at 13mins. We had to let it dry for a few hours and it was fine after that.

By the way the old tele. track started at Musgrave so up untill late 89 the track started to become bitumen & bypass creeks by building floodways, eg a bridge over the wenlock river.After nolans you should have continue north to the old crossing at the Jardine river where the one vehicle barge was used.

I'm enjoying this new view on Cape York Tyler its not all wheel lifts and gunshot there is so much history in these parts!

my nephew Sam was one of the only people to ask for a one way ferry ticket :), they drove across, got stuck and said bugger that on the way back, the ferry guy thought they were nuts and had never sold a one way ticket prior to that - some years back I guess

I'm here in the states, but don't think I'd be too keen on taking my F250 over that bridge haha.

You say you never got water in the cab well lift the floor mats no vechicle is water proof. I thought my BT 50 didn’t get water in till I lifted mats and it was wet. I left my tyres at 22 psi all ok depends on the car I have a ute with a canopy it won’t float. 4 door suv will float.

A great video. You’ve shown that you don’t have to be a hero and send it to get through. They were exciting times at Nolan’s. After we helped out at Nolan’s. We helped the guy who floated before you. We got his car started and he ended up getting to the tip and completing their trip. He was lucky.

Great stuff. It would be very interesting to know what exactly caused those cars to fail at Nolan’s Brook. Faulty joints on their snorkels? Cracked snorkel? To know how to test a snorkel before going underwater with it would be very helpful.

Well done on the Nolans crossing. You prepped for the crossing the right way and this is where so many go wrong they don't prep for the crossing.

I’ve been watching heaps of your vids since I discovered your channel and absolutely loving the content. I just came across this one and loved it. It brought back memories. We drove the Jardine in 89 like many others, however, something weird happened before we crossed. This Iranian backpacker travelling OZ solo on an off road motorcycle pulled up and was rightly concerned as it was wider and deeper than he expected and didn’t have enough fuel to travel right back around to the ferry so we loaded his bike in my mates punt and timidly walked it across while the girls croc spotted. All ended well, luckily for him my mate had the punt, we were pretty much the last travellers for the season. Nice work mate. My heart was only Throat for Nolan’s. Did you see many people towing camper trailers on the OTT? My young family are heading up in September and a RTT is too small for us so we are talking a soft floor camper for two weeks in the cape(old Tele track included).

I have flooded my R50 Pathfinder Series 2 before not at Nolans and I can tell you the emotions you go thought and the fear of losing your pride and joy is horrible but I was lucky and that same 4WD is still kicking today no damage go the unkillable VG33E engine.

Nolan's Brook, well done, bloody perfect driving. I cringe when I see people drop in at speed and they wonder why their engines blow up

Wow what a experience, everyone I know has done this, its probably the biggest mexican attraction ever.

my wife and i did it solo in 2019 the water crossing were up to the wipers as you nosed into every crossing , we crossed nolans un assisted tyres at 15 psi important part is no big splash as you enter ,just cruise it light vehicles float ,so many people who drowned in the day i spent there were vehicles who set up camp further up and came back to nolans with an empty light car most of those didnt do the ott they just drove the pdr and just drove to nolans to have a go

Lil tip for us all, use dielectric grease to waterproof ALL plugs, fuse box, alternator, sensors and u can literally run the ute with water over the roof

Been watching your vids for a long time. Love them all, especially this series. The Nav just eats the obstacles up. That suspension set-up you have seems to be the go,combined with the low tyre pressure. Well done 👍
