CHAOS WITH THE NEW BOILER | REMOVING LEAD PIPES | RENOVATION / MOVING VLOG #6
Hi guys, welcome to another episode of the renovation/moving vlog! This week I had to do some work in the kitchen to make space for the new boiler, moving some cupboards and then what ended up as a partial kitchen and bathroom rip out due to some issues with the piping for the boiler.
I was a bit short on time to explain the boiler grant so I will talk through it in a future episode.

Unbelievable Laura! You never cease to amaze! Hope those boiler guys were impressed that you took care of the pipe thing no thanks to them. I always like it when I can tell someone that I’ll take care of something myself.

Thank you Kristen! I think they were surprised that I had called them to come back so quickly! I can see why they didn’t want to do it - it was a lot of messing around! It’s all sorted now thankfully but it is nice sorting things yourself isn’t it when people make such a big deal of something! X

Thank you Margie! It’s just come with experience over the years with various houses the more I do the more confidence I get to tackle other things! I’ve got another couple of weeks until I’m back in work then I’ll be taking a breather 😂 x

Fantastic news Laura and well-deserved! Love the idea of sharing our DIYs with you, that will be so great to see everyone's projects. Any tips on squeaking stairs? I have just put screws in them and they still squeak..🙈🤯 x great video x

Thank you Karen! Stairs are funny because they don’t have the same support as floorboards do. Try some bigger/thicker screws and see if that helps. Sometimes if you are screwing into an existing hole it won’t get the same bite with a screw of a similar size x

Ugh, I felt the disappointment over the boiler but I think that definitely had a silver lining with the re work of the kitchen. That will be great

Well I think you were absolutely entitled to shed a few tears over the boiler, Laura. What a nightmare, but you got it sorted in the end. You know what they say - "One day, we'll laugh about this!" Just not yet though. We have finished our conservatory ceiling insulation project and I have a few photos of that but I don't have an Instagram account, so I was wondering if I can send them to your business email on here. It's such a good idea to get people to send in their own projects.

I literally got a warm home grant (I own my home in Scotland) and got a new boiler n radiators! Could not believe it however wot a mess... and I'm not as talented as u lol!

Fab Julia! Those schemes are fantastic, I did have to pay quite a lot towards it but it still worked out a lot cheaper than just calling in a local company x
