Let's say, hypothetically, that you're right and speech is violence. Now, I speak at colleges and people go to college to learn. Given that learning is fun and a gladiator is one who commits acts of violence for entertainment, I am, by definition, a gladiator. I haven't watched the video, but the scene described with Ben Shapiro taking trans people to task with "why don't you identify as older" is hilarious to me. What? That's all philosophical final form of conservatism can muster? How is this not just a dead ideology?
Note that Ben had to ask that person their age because it was not outwardly apparent; the student could have self-identified as any number of ages and Ben would have no way of verifying that answer. FURTHERMORE, age is CONSTANTLY changing, or fluid if you will.

We can say that something takes one hour, fifty-seven minutes, and thirty-two seconds to occur; we cannot say that someone is "male" to the tune of 14.375 degrees or 18 milipascals or 400 megagenders or anything similar. So if, in Ben's world, gender is "male" or "female" with nothing in between, then for him to be consistent he would also have to claim that human ages are either "young" or "old", with no room for gradation or self-determination.

We live in this very sad part of history the last two centuries or so, where all of political philosophy and thaught is trapped in this unholy lIke worship of the American constitution. I'm not saying the American constitution is not worthy to be a building document, but to think in hundred years or if ever in the future that nothing can be worthy to stand in its presence, or dare I say in eclipsing it, we live in a weird end of history where we are told we can never surpass what was done TWO AND A HALF FUCKING DECADES ago that our live meant to be lived in splendid infinate animation, has been some kind of perverse perserve of some fucking train set model.
