The next part of the neurological examination is the motor examination. Dr. Mark Tarnopolsky examines the patient for muscle tone, strength and bulk. Then he assesses reflexes and distal strength in the upper and lower extremities.
Dr. Tarnopolsky is a neuromuscular specialist and the Director of Neuromuscular and Neurometabolic Clinic at McMaster University.
