One of my favorite trials in the whole series. Seeing Byakuya humbled is pure euphoria. The voice actor does such an amazing job with how flustered and angry he gets

This was my favorite case so far. The fact it was between such a smaller class made it feel so much more personal. Kind of wish the outcome was different though.

This trial had me on the edge of my seat. They did such a phenomenal job making the player think almost everyone killed Sakura and was the suspect. When Aoi admitted to it I felt ultimately betrayed because I thought she was genuinely a good hearted person … turns out she was but either best trial in the series imo

Chapter 4, the one where every muscle man meet their demise by different manners Ōgami : honorably committed suicide to prevent further killing (and it worked) Nidai : honorably fought to the death against Tanaka (and the Four Devas) to end the starvation and get killed by him in the process Gonta : persuaded by Ouma into killing Iruma knowing that she planned to murder the former. Gonta can't even remember what he did until his AI told him. He still accepted his execution for his friends. His demise is the most tragic of all the muscle men, and arguably in the series

Spoilers if you didn't play/watch DR V3 Out of all 3 games, the only one who died to prevent any killing and working afterwards was Sakura. Even Kaede died for nothing at the end because everyone kept killing regardless. I want to see a new type of DR were things DON'T GO WHERE EACH CHAPTER NEED TO KILL 2+ SURVIVORS! DR1 was good at this since it kept the same number of student since Ch4's ending.

Gonta is the most gruesome death because out of the three, simply because he's the only one that got an execution. And an unnecessarily brutal one at that.

The fact that those 6 stayed alive since Chp4 was nice, they look close friends, I originally thought everyone was gonna die except for Makoto but glade it wasn't the case at all Edit (Contain Spoilers for DR2 and V3) This is one of the reason why I prefer 1 over 2 and V3. They made fake deaths and executions without loosing any more survivors mid-way through the game, unlike 2 and V3 were up to ch5 someone HAD to be killed and another HAD to be executed successfully. I mean, was it much to keep more people alive? V3 ended up with only 3 survivors and since it was all suppose to be fiction, I see no harm in actually bringing back characters to life in Chp3 like Rantaro, causing an interesting change and with Angie killed the resurrect could be lost but AFTER it was successfully done.

Honestly Danganronpa 1 is my least favorite precisely because of the amount of survivors lmao, I think they were too much. Maybe with 5 it would have been ok, but 6? God, you could even say they were 7 because of the Genocide Jack... And I'm glad Danganronpa 2 and V3 did the formula right until the chapter 6 to be honest.

I think saying V3 had only 3 survivors in this conversation is a bit unfair. Like, technically yes, only 3 survive, but 2 of them died right at the end of chapter 6. There are effectively 5 (maybe 4 because of Tsumugi) survivors in V3. Regardless, I think V3 is the best because it feels like it has the most genuine connection between the survivors. It doesn't really feel like much of a bond is shared between the DR1 survivors, honestly even the SDR2 survivors feel more connected despite SDR2 having worse character writing in general imo. I think it has to do with there being a lot of true group conflicts in V3, everyone pitching in to the trials and all that. DR1 is hard carried by Naegi and Kirigiri and the only real group conflict is the one in the 4th chapter that has the class split which kind of hurts any connection fostering.

1:03:02 Togami, you literally can't say anything, you realise what you did to Chihiro's body in chapter 2 for like... no reason, right? Hina had a reason for her actions! (This is my first time watching the trial playthroughs, but I have seen the anime, which I admit was terrible compared to these trials.) OH MY GOD, THAT ENDING WAS SO UNNECESSARY THAT WAS THE LAST WE ALL HAD OF CHIHIRO, AND MONDO TOO!
