The best part is that even the final conversations show that the characters feel something is going to happen to them. Best example is Jamke and Dew's conversation.
nothing like a Thieves' intuition, and a bowmans keen eye to know shit's going down. and in this case, worse then anyone could have thought during the battle.
I can only imagine how it would feel for someone's first time playing through this, they get Edain and Claud's talk. Reading it sent _chills_ down my spine, and I only read it _after_ the fact.
Damn the music in the Chapter is too damn emotional because it's the end for your current characters, hence why paired characters have conversations that seem like something bad is going to happen. Sigurd made a tough but wise decision to send Oifey and Shannan to care for Seliph and 17 years later it all pays off.
Tbh, I like how most of the characters hint at something bad or outright say they are probably not coming back alive because taking on the main Grannvale force is suicide. Then it really starts going to hell (Quan) and then suddenly a "twist" happens and everyone is happy they miraculously won only for... THE twist to happen ;_; Depressing chapter, emotional theme as you said.
With the rumors of FE4 remake probably being true, I really can't wait for the remake version of this with the same treatment as echoes sov. One of the best soundtrack in the franchise and really fitting for the chapter.
I don't think they will remake it without ruining it. Because it is a nationalist game, it is against political correctness, globalism, child hunting ( like abortion, and child trafficking when compared to real life), and leftists.
@@lurisfantasy I'm pretty sure it's not America that makes these games its Japan so we'll seldom see any left or right wing propaganda. The issue is having the narrative ruined or as a friend of mine suggested the removal of oiffey and replacing him with a self insert character.
@@lurisfantasy "it is against political correctness" oh god shut the fuck up. "and leftists" nevermind delete your fucking account, freak. Lucius is gay for Raven and Ike is asexual, fucking get over it.
"So many of my memories - memories that meant a lot to me... They're gone. I know that someone important to me has vanished into that darkness. I... I feel uneasy. Even now, here, with you. I worry I may never see you again. If I forget about you, too... please, I beg you..." "Come and talk to me, and tell me all about our time together. Bring back the memories I've lost." -Deirdre; Lady of the Forest. Fire Emblem Heroes.
Sad part about this chapter for me is before playing it I knew that the second gen would start after, but Sigurd is my favorite character and actually seeing how things unfolded broke me. I didn't start chapter 6 until after a few days. Also, going through all the hardships of raising the squad, pairing them, and destroying everything in my path only to reach a sad end was tough too. I'm someone that will restart every chapter if a unit dies, even Arden. Just seeing all of them lined up like that, damn! I thought I'd enjoy going after Arvis, but that fight turned out to be more bitter than sweet. This game really knew how to personify these character.
I feel the same. I am still mourning their deaths and still can't play a second run. I start the game, remember the joy of playing with them and i always stop in chapter 4, i can't see they die again.
The chapter where you turn off the animations to hear the music better, Arden stays in the castle, as he's too weak to kill even pirates on his own. Erin eats a bunch of meteors, and Beowulf becomes a liability. Dew senses something wrong, and Sigurd goes to a royal barbecue to explain everything to King Azmur.
Welp, we still dont know where Deidre is, hey it's you're dad! Lets see if we can rectuit him! *Byron dies* well atleast you still have your son Siggy! *Seliph gets sent off* Ummm.....Sister? *Ethlyn gets killed by Wyvern rider* Brother in Law? *Quan gets killed right after*
this song is all over the place. it makes you feel good. it makes you feel uneasy. it makes you feel somethings not right. it makes you feel things that turn for the worse. it turns out the bad things were yet to come, it turns out the characters that you worked so hard to keep alive... aren't coming back anymore.
ok but fr tho i felt that so much, lachesis is such a ebast if you get her to the promo but even if you paragon band her you basically only have her for like 2 chapters @@maltheopia
OsmarGR he can if you use A LOT of fire power, Sacrifice someone like Julius or Deidre to the flames of Múspell so he can take him out with a fire boosted Growing flame
This song doesn't hit you hard at first, you just think of it as another good song to this great soundtrack. Then SPOILERS Sigurds father dies which sends some grief towards you then you see Ethlen and Quan make a return and you get excited to see them again. Then they get killed too which just sends you to tears and at this point the music isn't helping you get any happier. This is the closet I got to shedding tears in a fire emblem game.
The manga made everything worse, because all of the characters are so much more fleshed out. Watching Ethylin commit suicide to spare Quan having to choose broke my heart almost as much as Eldigan's death and Lachesis's reaction to it. Then we get to the Belhallan Massacre, and the hope spot Sigurd and Lewyn bring. Only for Arvis to snap and burn Sigurd up on the spot, and Manfroy to kill Lewyn Chapter 5 was just horrific
Don't misunderstand. Chapter 5 of Genealogy of the Holy War is my all time favorite chapter in any Fire Emblem game. But it's just one non stop horror show, from the moment Byron dies to the moment Arvis murders Sigurd and his army.
@@lizzymarlow5208 I was framing it as "from the start to the end, this chapter is a giant shitshow". I could have also included Lex possibly having to kill his father, Tailtiu possibly having to kill her father, Aida backstabbing Reptor on Arvis's orders, and Sigurd finding out that his best friend and beloved sister were both murdered like animals in the desert when he gets to Phinora
Imagine if Fire Emblem 4 gets a remake, you know what that means? That means that we are going to see a full cutscene with voice acting of Arvis betrayal to Sigurd. If by only reading was already heartbreaking, with a possible remake things are gonna be more sad.
If FE4 remake with full voice acting, I think I will cry in 2 scenes 1/ Sigurd's last line to Deirdre: "OF COURSE I DO!! YOU'RE MY..." 2/ Seliph meets his parents' ghost
This song had a real world implication for me. So you know how this plays in chapter 5 and it’s really hopeful since the war is coming to an end then boom the tragedy happens. One time I was on my way to pick up the girl I had a crush on and we were gonna hang out. On my way to her house I played this song with a hopeful spirit. But once we hung out it was super awkward and it went horrible and my other friend was there and she talked to him the whole time and completely ignored me, what a bitch, still love this song tho
I put this song when I was heading to school to take my finals last semester. I knew that I had to give it everything I got while knowing if I failed the exam, I wouldn't pass the class
This is a chapter that once you're done you're gonna need a break before you go to chapter 6. One of the moments in gaming history that leave you speechless.
as soon as I heard this track play in game I was like "no. why end so soon? tell me why." and Sigurd's final words are exactly my final words of ending this generation
I think the only ones that canonically survived the massacre were Adean (or Aideen, Edain, or whatever), Briggid (see Thracia 776), Lachesis (she lived with Finn and Leif, but left them to search for Delmund), Tailtu (she dies afterwards anyway, due to being abused by Hilda), Ferry (also dies afterwards due to a desease), Silvia (left her children on an orphanage, then possibly died), and Lewyn (he technically died, but his body was resurrected and partially possesed by Forseti's lingering spirit that was inside the homonimous magic tome)
David Jimenez Shouzou Kaga mentioned in his February 2019 interview that there’s no official word on Ayra’s fate in the Belhalla massacre. She probably survived and but was most likely turned into stone.
4 Months ago, inspired by the newly released Sonic Frontiers, I had an idea for something the FE4 remake could do in this chapter. In Sonic Frontiers, on the fourth island as the level progresses sonic gets more and more fatigued. I think the FE4 remake should have a very similar effect in chapter 5: Doorway to Destiny, where as the bosses of the castles are felled Sigurd gets more and more fatigued. He, of course, presses ever on, for in a hopeless situation he has hope and is the beacon of light to guide his soldiers on the bleak of night. For an inverse effect, I don't see seliph getting progressively happier working that well. However in three houses fighting with a battalion had a few dozen generics fight alongside you and cheer you on as your unit dueled the enemy. Possibly, if the remake has something similar, near the beginning of of chapter 11 the background generics are biting their teeth, holding their breath, waiting to see how victorious their commander will be. But as the bosses slowly one-by-one fall they get louder and more cheery until by the time Seliph fights the deadlords after felling Hilda, their cheers are heard at the start of every combat and they jump for joy whenever the enemy dies. Maybe they kiss once Julius dies Later, though, I had another idea that instead the final chapter would have very little instrumentation, and as Seliph progressed in the final chapter more and more instruments would be added until around the time they defeat Hilda and fight the Deadlords in which the song plays in all its glory. Then, as an inverse of an inverse, Chapter 5 could start with all the instruments, and slowly get quieter as the battle goes on, but I don't see that working as well Not to say that I can't see both ideas working together, with Sigurd getting fatigued in Chapter 5 and the instruments coming in in Chapter 11, just that it'll be odd if the parallels don't exactly line up. Anyways yeah that's my idea, don't forget to like comment and subscribe for more [[Hyperlink blocked.]]
It is. It plays as Sigurd is stuck in a terrible nightmare, which I perceive to his reality, seeing as how the other Sigurd and his 2 closest allies, Quan and Eldigan, are able to band together to stop this Sigurd from causing more chaos after having been through so much hell.
Sigurd gets buttfucked by Alvis, Deirdre gets buttfucked by Alvis, Levin delivers babies left and right and couples fuck again right afterwards, Noish gets really, really high.
Audino Mage He had Loptyr blood in him and Manfroy knew about it so he decided to use the fact that people with Loptyr blood are hunted down and killed as a way to manipulate him
@Audino dressed up as a blue wizard He felt bad for the people with Loptyrian blood being killed in witch hunts and sympathized with them because he had the same blood and could suffer the same fate. So he went along with what Manfroy said because he had his own ambitions to remake the world into one without persecutions and prejudice.
