Horse in Latin is read caballus (just as it is written), not "cabaius" and equus is pronounced "ecvus", because "e" in Latin is "e" not like in English "i" and the group "qu" followed by a vowel is pronounced "cv" (for example "aqua" in Latin is pronounced "acva" because the group "qu" is followed by vowel "a")
