I can't begin to explain how helpful these videos are! I've watched every single once till chapter 8 so far and you are literally my main teacher. Thank you so much.
Ma'am what's the difference between Blood pressure and Blood flow? How small lumen in capillary lowers the blood flow and blood pressure? Because according to physics decrasing in area results in more pressure. Kindly guide me what is this blood pressure thing
It's different here bcs area it's not the only factor. There's also the distance from the heart and is presence/absence of smooth muscles. Capillaries are very small in diameter, but also it does not have smooth muscles, and it is quite a distance from the heart. Blood pressure is therefore low. Blood flow refers to volume. So volume is low, due to size. The physics here is not the "ideal" version you learn bcs it's a real body, that is not in a controlled environment yeah
I am referring to blood flow. Arteries are vessels that transport oxygenated blood away from the heart, to the entire body. Then it travels to capillaries, then the veins. Back to the heart
